"I still think five bedrooms is a bit big for us, Chris..."

Leon watched as the construction men were hard at work for their home. It had been a long few months, almost four months, since Leon and Chris finally got the floorplan down that they wanted. With uncooperative weather, and Leon nearing the end of the third trimester, the house was coming along as best as possible. Foundation laid, framework done, insulation and plumbing handled, the house was looking like it was coming together.

However, Leon had to admit, he was starting to worry whether the house would be finished in time for the new baby.

"But we talked about itttt....." Chris drawled, fixing the biggest pout ever on his face. Which, on such a muscled man, was rather hilarious instead of adorable.

Leon smiled and shook his head. He winced as Finley kicked. Ouch! He grumbled and sat down. He told Chris, "I know we did, and I have to thank you for finally finagling me out of my old apartment to stay with you, but I still have to admit, this is..."

He looked around at the insulated frames. He finished, "...pretty spacious! You sure we need this?"

"Think of the kids, Leon!" Chris protested. "An office for us, a nearby playroom for them, and they each deserve their own room, plus...."

He walked over, wrapping his arms around Leon and resting his head on the other's shoulder to purr in his ear. "Our own room..."

Leon blushed and stammered, "You're terrible, Redfield!"

He winced and growled, "Every time you try to tease me, Finley kicks!" He rubbed his stomach, huffing. He muttered, "Take it easy, Fin!"

"I might be terrible, but I'm only terrible for you." Chris stated. "Now do you want to sit down? He seems to be getting awfully active as of late..."

Leon looked at Chris. He laughed to him, "I'm already sitting down!" He rubbed his lower belly, taking steady breaths. He felt like he was farther along than he thought. Maybe he was, since last time he ever paid attention to how far along he was other than during September when the President made his speech about Raccoon City.

Come to think of it, his ankles felt huge...

"Leon?" Chris asked slowly. "Do I need to call the nurse? Maybe have her stop by?"

Leon shook his head and waved his hand. He reached and felt his ankles. No, he was probably imagining things. He did tie his shoes a little too tight before they left.

He told him, "I'm fine. I promise, if there were any concerns, I'll tell you."

He watched Chris with a beaming smile. He asked, "Do you have any idea how fortunate I am to have you?"

"Yes, but you can go ahead and tell me again because I love hearing it, darling." Chris rested his head on Leon's shoulder once more. "Because I'm luckier having you."

Leon smiled and leaned on Chris. He told him, "Well, I am VERY fortunate to have you in my life. Even if you're a hunking human tank who can punch boulders into submission."

He grinned. "And yes I haven't forgotten about that endeavor you went on in Kijuju. Plus I seem to recall in that report you made it explicitly clear you roasted Wesker like smoked ham."

Chris gave a half-shrug, holding onto Leon in a warm hug. "He deserved it. And I don't think anyone's missing him."

He pressed his lips to Leon's cheek. "And I'm fine with being a hulking human tank, so long as I am your hulking human tank, my wonderful husband."

Leon smiled. He then frowned, hand to his lower stomach. His brows knit, trying to decipher what was going on. He frowned.

"Remind me again what Nurse Ashley said about Braxton Hicks? They would be happening around this time, right?"
