Silently Leon rode in the canvas covered truck with the rest of the masked troops. Every moment he could take a chance to look at them, not one seemed keen on letting his guard down to the agent. But he was paying attention regardless of the silence that stayed through the entire trip.
He noted their combat vests, the longsleeves underneath, the guards at their knees and elbows, and the type of weapons they carried. Military grade, of course. Perhaps obtained by their patron, the acclaimed arms dealer that was on the government hit list.
He said nothing, but seeing how these men were, how trained they were, and the cumbersome giant that sat silently with a metal mask over his face, they had to be.
He remained as quiet as he could through the trip, from the bright hours of morning to late afternoon. The truck then came to a turn, and from the echoes of it, into some sort of parking garage. He frowned. His gut told him where he was.
The canvas was pulled back, and the men marched out into the parking garage. Leon's arm was grabbed, pulling the man out of the truck. He stumbled as his feet found concrete, his arm bruising from the sheer grip of the gargantuan masked man. He hissed as he was hauled from the garage to an elevator.
"Easy with him," The woman from before told the giant. She strode over to Leon, smirking delightfully. She told the giant, "After all, an intact Omega is just as useful as a researcher."
The giant rumbled thoughtfully. He nodded and carried the agent inside the elevator. The woman next to him pressed for the top floor. There, as the doors opened, Leon found himself peering at the sight of a...wedding reception?
His brows knit. He was shoved forward, then the woman grabbed for him. She pulled him along to the head table as rows of others sat with caskets that shook and rattled with the dead. Leon balked, startled. Some of these caskets had to be at least several months old at that, if not more than a year. And yet they were the walking dead.
"The hell?!" He wanted to ask, but he was shoved to a chair. His wrists were pulled back, handcuffed to the chair he sat in. He growled and tried to fight back, but the woman shook her head.
"I wouldn't if I were you," she told him, "I could kill you just as easily, and Arias will unleash the virus into New York city. If you comply, maybe he'd be willing to postpone his...vengeance."
Leon glared at her. She rose slowly, eyes on him...red eyes. The Omega Plagas within his body curled into itself. There was something about her he didn't like. It made him feel inferior, weaker.
And eerily familiar. Like when he confronted the Alpha Queen Plagas.
Did she also carry it?
He dared to ask, "Did Glenn Arias give you the virus?"
"Did Los Illuminados give you the Omega Plagas?" She asked him right back. Leon froze in his seat. She...she knew?
"How did you know?" He seethed. "HOW?!"
"We've kept tabs on your conversation with Rebecca Chambers," a man's voice answered the agent. Leon's heart dropped. He nonetheless stilled his soaring temper.
So that was Glenn Arias.
"You've been eavesdropping," Leon complained. He looked past the woman and the encumbering giant, his eyes falling on a hardened face with a scarred eye and a combed back head of silver. He was dressed sharply, like a groom prepared for a wedding ceremony.
...or recreating what was taken from him.
"Of course," Glenn answered and walked over. He turned to the woman. He told her, "I will be fine from here, Maria. Thank you."
The woman, Maria, nodded and walked over to the giant. She took his hand and led him away from the two men. The moment the elevator closed, Leon found himself alone with Glenn and his horde of boxed dead.
Great...just flipping great.
"You leave yourself to vulnerability rather easily, Mr. Kennedy," Glenn remarked. "Leaving your guard down, exposing your secrets to your companions. I'd have been a little more careful, especially when you're raising a baby."
Leon's eyes narrowed. He stated, "I do not take it kindly when someone eavesdrops on a personal conversation. I'd have to kill you to keep it private."
"Please," Glenn scoffed and walked around the agent. He sat down next to him, adding, "My life has already been attempted once. And for that, I survived. But precious people were taken from me, even my wife. And for that, because of the lives who were important to me, I will be taking the world to Hell."
Leon scowled. He asked him, "You really think that's going to happen? Because it's not going to. Not until Chris and I put a stop to your world-ending schemes."
Glenn smirked in amusement. He told him, "I have doubts about that. You willingly gave yourself up to my family, knowing you had one to take care of yourself. That tells me that you are a man who's willing to give up everything so to save the many more."
Leon frowned. He told him, "I'm making sure my daughter stays safe. I'd hate for you to get your hands on her."
Glenn smirked and shook his head. He seemed evidently amused. He replied, "Ah, but it's not your child that I'm interested in. It's you."
Leon's eyes widened. Him? He asked tentatively, "...what is your interest in me?"
"The Plagas womb," Glenn explained. "If you were induced into a heat, you'd be able to get pregnant rather easily. Furthermore, the A-virus is a strain of the Plagas, so I would imagine a beautiful abomination being born from such a union. Either that, or the infant would have a potent strain of the virus, potent enough to manipulate the world's population."
Leon stared at Glenn. He growled, "I'm not doing it with you."
"Oh, but I doubt you'd have the power to object," Glenn stated. He stood and left Leon, then walked over to a box. He opened it and reached for an object inside. When he turned, he revealed a syringe containing green liquid inside.
For some reason or another, seeing the syringe formed a pit in his stomach, bile already souring the back of his tongue.
"I had planned to reserve this for Rebecca Chambers," Glenn stated, "But given the circumstances, if it induces a heat and allows me at the least a chance to create a far superior virus, to test the capabilities of a far stronger and more capable bioweapon, then it is a chance I will take."
Leon balked, but his chair teetered. He caught his footing as Glenn made his way over. He felt the needle puncture into his neck, earning a growl from the agent. He turned to headbutt, but Glenn held him down. He struggled, writhing under the arms dealer. His pulse thundered, the virus ripping into his veins from the injection.
Glenn withdrew the needle from his neck to allow Leon rest and the virus settle into its host body. The agent sat in his seat and glared at Glenn. His cheeks flushed from fighting the arms dealer, but his breaths started to fall ragged. His body felt hot, his head swimming with fever. He could feel the virus taking effect into his body, but the Plagas was fighting back.
Yet still...he felt strange. Almost...euphoric. He swallowed a breath and peered at Glenn. His vision swam as Glenn leered over him.
"Sweet bliss isn't it?" Glenn asked. "And to think that at first the Plagas and the virus wouldn't bond. But it is, isn't it?"
Leon shook his head. He didn't know what to feel, but he did know one thing. He felt wrong. Just like before, he felt utterly wrong. It was an alien sensation he didn't want. He hated it.
But as Glenn leered over him, he could hear the man purr in his ears, "You will savor this, Leon S. Kennedy...I will ensure that for you...".
