"Oh, look at her!"

Rebecca gasped as both men came downstairs, Chris holding little Cristiana as Leon tentatively followed behind him. She stood and walked over to the baby and the captain, admiring the little headful of dark hair. She teased, "Look at you Chris! You look like you could pass for her father!"

Chris chuckled at that. He turned to Leon, who glanced back, then to Rebecca. He started, "About that..."

Rebecca looked up at him, then turned to Leon. She asked, "Something the matter?"

Chris and Leon peered at each other. They remained quiet, a long silence hanging between them. The agent walked around Rebecca and reclaimed his seat he was in earlier that morning as Chris sat back down across from him. He faced Rebecca.

"...you said you needed intel about the bioweapon the Los Illuminados cult used before..." he stated. "I'll tell you, on the condition you keep this between yourself, Chris and I. That's all I ask."

Rebecca's brows knit; why the discretion? She told him, "If it's personal, then I don't mean to..."

Leon shook his head and waved his hand. He told her, "It is personal, true, but I can't deny you the things I know if it means that it would help being down Glenn Arias."

Rebecca nodded. So, she asked him with care, "...so what were they using?"

Leon fiddled with a splinter of wood on the table. He seemed rather fixated on it, taking his time to come up with a response for it. It would be difficult to, given the memories that came with them. He forced a breath.

"Las Plagas. The cult had brought in a scientist, probably from Umbrella Corp., to see if they could revive the parasite from the fossils in the castle's catacombs. It apparently worked, and the cult used the parasite on their hosts. However, to ensure distribution, they also revived a variant of the parasite...an Omega Plagas."

Rebecca frowned. "What's an Omega Plagas?"

Leon inhaled a shuddering breath. He turned to her.

"...a breeding parasite, one that could allow anyone who already had a dominant male parasite to impregnate another infected, regardless of whether they were a man or a woman. The Omega Plagas takes over the host's hormones once it's inside the body, and grows rapidly to completely bond to the genetic make-up of the host. Removal would be painful and render the host complete paralysis or worse, death."

He looked at Chris and Cristiana. The memories were beginning to resurface; his chest hurt, and his heart ached. It was difficult to get a breath out alone...but with determination, he continued...

"When I went to Spain to rescue the President's daughter, I was taken and given an Omega Plagas. Their goal was to spread the parasite outside of their main base in Spain and secure their influence. Ashley was infected, of course, but it was but a soldier parasite compared to what they gave me. They..."

His lips pursed, his body taken with shivers as he painfully reflected on that memory. Without realizing it his hands shook as they curled into fists. He inhaled a slow and steady breath, then let it out.

"...they kept me. Raped me. Over and over again, hoping that I would carry their influence to the States once I rescued Ashley. I managed to find an ally who had made hormone suppressants to keep the Plagas in check. It was enough, but..."

He shook his head. He could feel the grime and sweat of that day, the smell of sex rank and rich in his nose. His chest tightened, the Plagas womb inside his body wilting at the memory of the rough rhythms. He grabbed for his stomach and squeezed the cloth of leather. He wanted terribly to forget.
