A full year.

A full year since little Finley was born, a full year since moving into their great five bedroom home they both had wanted, and a full year since celebrating Cristiana's first birthday.

A full beautiful year.

And even as Leon found himself peering about the courthouse, dressed in his best suit of a light hue of grey and his tie of blue, he found himself...anxious. The both agreed to do this after all. They paid the fees and signed the certificate, legally binding him and Chris for life.

Kennfield, they agreed for their legal surname. It was a play on their last names, Kennedy and Redfield, and it made sense that they both shared it instead of one having to change their surname for the other. Because after all, it was BOTH their lives they were spending with each other. Not just one, and not just the other.

He turned and caught sight of Chris in his dark grey suit jacket, underneath a black collared shirt, around it one gold pendant. He looked like someone who stepped fresh out of the Godfather set, and it made Chris both handsome...and intimidating.

He gulped and ran a hand through his dirty blond hair. The dark brunet dye had faded, giving him that beautiful unique hue. He stammered, "I don't know whether to bolt or kiss you!"

"Mmmm, can I make up your mind for you?" Chris asked teasingly, a brilliant smile lighting up his face. "Because I'd much prefer a kiss, just so you know."

Leon smiled and walked over. He kissed his spouse, soon to be literally in the next few minutes. He turned and spotted Hunnigan joining up, carrying Finley in one arm, and little Cristiana waddling behind while holding "Aunt Hunnie's" hand. With her was Claire Redfield, Chris's red-haired, crystal-eyed sister, Sherry Birkin, a little blonde-haired girl, the same one Leon helped care for since Raccoon City, of course Jake Mueller, her protective date, and Jill Valentine. Lastly, there was Rebecca Chambers, Chris' close friend from STARS of Raccoon City, and of course the girl who helped uncover the cure for the A-virus in New York city.

Leon shook his head and looked at Chris, grinning so much his cheeks hurt. He told him, "I thought we agreed we were going to keep this between us...!"

"But don't you know!" Chris nudged his shoulder. "You should ALWAYS have family on the happiest days. Plus, we need three of them to be witnesses."

Chris crouched, holding his arms out wide. "Where's Daddy's Princess, huh? Where's my Cristi?"

"Daddy!!!" Cristi chirped and ran for Chris. She leapt into his arms and snuggled with all her toddler might. She chirped, "Daddy daddy!!!"

Leon smiled and walked over to Claire, Hunnigan, Sherry, Jake, Jill and Rebecca. He caught up with them, learning a little more about Jill and Rebecca. Like Claire, they were like his family. Rebecca was in some sense a little sister to Chris, and Jill was his best friend. Claire of course was Leon's, and Sherry, Jake and Hunnigan all came to support Leon and Chris' marriage.

As they talked, a judge stepped in, beaming from face to face. He chirped, "Ah! A joyous occasion and escape from all the hearings!"

Leon chuckled and asked, "Were you looking for an escape, Your Honor?"

"As a matter of fact I was," He answered. He clasped his hands together. He asked, "So! Who am I officiating?"

Leon and Chris looked at each other. Leon spoke up, "Um, my husband and I."

Chris took all the love from Cristi with a grin, zerberting kisses on her cheeks, causing her to squeal in delight every time. "Guess what?" He told her. "Your Daddies are getting married today. Can you be the goodest girl for me?"
