Leon woke within an hour, staring up at a bright hospital light. His head still hurt, but it didn't hurt as bad as it did earlier that afternoon. He had a cool ice pack to the back of his neck, his wrists and ankles wrapped in cool damp cloths. He glanced over and noticed an IV in his arm.

Of course...

He searched around for Cristiana, but to no avail. There was Chris, nearby on a chair. But there was no sight of Cristiana.

Where...

Was...

His...

BABY?!

Chris sat upright, watching Leon intently, closely, worriedly. "Are you alright?" He asked, his voice impossibly soft.

Leon nodded. He muttered, "It feels like someone's slammed a baseball bat into the back of my head."

He looked around.

"Where's Cristi?"

"Infant care unit." Chris said carefully, mindful of his future spouse's headache. "You collapsed when we arrived at the hospital. What do you remember last?"

Leon blinked. He muttered, "...the parking lot. I remember the parking lot when we got here."

He blinked. Infant care unit?! He hurriedly sat up. "Is she okay?!"

He nodded, pressing a hand to Leon's shoulder. "Treating her for the heat, last I saw and heard, she's alright, just being observed. After all, she was a lot better off than you were."

Leon watched Chris. He nodded slowly, lying back. However, worry gnawed at his mind. He asked him, "You sure she's okay?"

"Saw her ten minutes ago, then they said you were waking up." Chris said gently, rubbing the top of Leon's head.

Leon couldn't help but lean to his gesture. He nodded, muttering, "All right...I'm scared she got a heat stroke or worse..."

He looked at Chris. He managed an awkward smile. "Sorry...all this panicking and you're probably thinking my brain's roasted."

"Just a bit." Chris noted, continuing his head rubs. "The doctors said your temperature was almost a hundred and four, Leon..."

Leon's brows knit. "A hundred and four...?" He asked.

Chris nodded. "You were hot, Leon. And not in the good way."

Leon snorted. "Thanks for the pun..." he  teased. He winced a little, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Ow..."

"You needed the laugh." Chris shrugged, moving his hand from Leon's head to the back of his neck. "Pinched nerves or does your head feel like a big lump?"

"Am I allowed to say both or does that warrant an admission to the asylum?" Leon asked Chris. He chuckled and added, "But seriously, both. Especially my neck. Stressing again..."

Chris's hand moved to his neck, giving it a slow, methodical rub. "No, but that does warrant extra care given to you when we get home." He informed the man, being as gentle as possible.

Leon groaned. He rubbed his stomach, free of the binder, and felt the baby kick. He chuckled.

"Okay okay, Mama will take care of himself..." he muttered.

His brows knit, realizing something. He told Chris, "That's right...I never gave you the chance to name our child..."

"Well, let's see what they'll be first." Chris said warmly. "How's the newest little one doing?"
