I wake up to someone shaking me and push them off me. I open my eyes and find Ally looking at me.
"Come on this is the last stop." She says, grabbing her bag.
I grab mine too and we walk off the bus. "Where are we?" I ask, looing around
She looks around, looking for something. "I don't know, let's ask someone." Ally answers, we look around until we spot a lady and a little boy, walking on the sidewalk.
We walk up to them and ask them where we are. The woman says we are in North Carolina. Ally and I thank her and walk up to a map on a wall. "We need to go more North, up to Greensboro," She says, moving her finger north towards where we need to go. I take out a piece of paper and draw out the map, putting a circle on Greensboro. Ally looks at the paper and nods.
"Good thinking! We probably will need that." She says, walking towards the nearest train station. I follow her, getting behind her in line. When we get inside the train, we sit in the only two person seat. I take out my IPod and headphones, playing music. I also take out my notebook and start drawing. I draw a girl, standing under a tree running away from darkness. I finish drawing, looking out the train's window. Rain drizzles down the window, making it fog up. I think of what this is going to turn out like. Will we make it out here alone except each other? I keep thinking, until the rain lulls me to sleep.
*Flashback/dream*
My mom is pulling out my clothes for me because it's my birthday. "Sweetie, what do you want to do today?" She asks, pulling out a shirt and jeans to match. "Let's go to the movie theater! There's a movie out that I have been dying to see!" I exclaim, jumping on my bed. Mom hands me the clothes she picked out and matching shoes. I get dressed in record time, racing out of my room and down the stairs. "Mom, let's go!" I scream, too excited to wait. She walks out of the kitchen and grabs the keys, hanging by the door. We walk outside and pull out of the driveway, leaving the house.
