13 years later...Epilogue
Ava grew into a beautiful, smart 13 year old. Today is her birthday, Im hopeing she wont have my powers. I dont want her to have this life of fear. She didnt want to have a party, so we let her go to the movies with her friends. My mom was buried a few miles down the road and the cementary.
My dad started talking to me again and we talked through his problems. Ally and Jake got married and had a son 10 years ago. They moved closer to us so we can keep in touch. As for Alex and me, we married 11 years ago and have been happy ever since. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Ava comes running in.
"Mom! Whats happening?" I sigh, knowing exacally whats wrong. "Sweetie, calm down. Your powers are coming in. It happended to me at your age too. I'll help you control them but you cant tell anyone. On full moons until you learn control I want you to stay away from everyone." She nods, taking deep breaths. I look at her eyes and see they are dark purple. I tell her how to control them for now.
A boy, about Ava's age, comes running in towards her. "Ethan! I told you I was fine and not to follow me!" Ava yells. The boy, Ethan, looks down sheepishly. "Ava, who is this?" Ava looks at me then to Ethan. "Mom, this is Ethan." I get a feeling in my head when she mentions his name again.
The way she said it. It sounds like she is in love with him. I gasp, when my powers show me what they are. Images of them growing up, thier first kiss, marriage, having kids, and death. Its what Alex and I are. Ava doesnt know. Neither of them do. They are looking at me now, concern in Ava's eyes. "Soul mates." I whisper. Ava gasps.
