Teran was one of the princes of Etheria and like all the other princes of Etheria he loved adventure and till one day his first for adventure caused him to turn into a frog. He and his brother, Roan, along with his two cousins, Eckard and Kyle went out hunting when they came across a small old lady selling wares. She sold different potions of different colours and when his eyes landed on the love potion he couldn’t help himself, he had to buy it. He was the only one in his family who didn’t have someone special in his life and he was growing tired of it. He purchased the potion and the old lady gave him a toothless grin before she moved along.

Once the group returned home Teran decided to drink the potion before he went to sleep as per instruction of the old lady. The next morning he was awoken by a scream. The servant that brought him breakfast dropped the tray and ran from the room. He didn’t understand why until he looked down at himself. His body was gone and replaced by that of a frog. He wasn’t human anymore, but a small frog. His cousins entered the room followed by Carling. She gave him a once over and declared that there was nothing she could do for him and the only way to return to his true self, was to find love. But how does a frog find love? So with determination Teran set out to search for love so that he could return to his real self. He travelled for months all over the kingdom with no luck at all, he was about to give up when he heard someone crying. Being the curious frog that he was he immediately investigated where the crying was coming from.

He found a young girl sitting at a pond crying, he approached the girl cautiously. When the girl heard the rustling of the leaves she looked up to see a small frog hopping towards her. She wasn’t scared of the small green creature and she gave it a smile.

“I guess you heard my crying, huh?” she said as she gave the frog a smile. Teran looked at the strange girl, usually girls are scared of him. He wanted to say something but all he got out was a small croak.

“I take that as a yes,” she said before she stared out into the pond.

“If only you could understand me little green frog. I would’ve like your help,” she said. Teran knew what she said but there was no way of telling her that so instead he jumped onto her lap. She gave the little green frog a curious look.

“Would I be silly to believe you can understand me?” Teran let out to croaks hoping she would take it as a no.

“Maybe not, well I might as well try,” She said as she gave him a thoughtful look.

“Well, little frog, my mother died when I was only a girl of six summers and all I have left of her is a locket. I was sitting here at the pond we used to sit at reading book when I took off the locket to look at it closer, but suddenly there was a rustling in the bushes and I jumped in fright and accidentally threw the locket in the pond. I can’t swim and thus I have no way of retrieving the locker,” the girl explained and with every word Teran felt more determined to find this poor girl’s locket. He gave her a nod before he jumped into the pond. He swam to the bottom of the pond as he searched for the lost locket. Finally his eyes caught a glimmer and he was beyond excited when his eyes landed on the lost locket. He quickly grabbed the locket before he swam back up where he left the crying girl. When he climbed onto the river bank with the locket in tow he heard an excited squeal of delight.

“You found it!” he heard the excited scream of the girl before he was picked up.

“You are my hero, my little frog,” she said before she kissed him on his lips. Teran couldn’t believe his luck as he felt a tingling sensation as the girl dropped him on the ground. He heard the girl gasp and he knew that he must have returned to his true form to elicit such a reaction from the girl.

“You…you’re a man!” the girl exclaimed in surprise.

“Yes, I am and you saved my life,” Teran realised that he still had the locket in his possession, “I believe this belongs to you.”

The girl took the locket from his hand all the while staring at the frog that turned into a man. Teran could see the confusion in the girl’s face so he told her who he was.

“I’m Teran, a prince of Etheria who was changed into a frog because I drank a love potion, you milady broke my spell. I thank you,” he said as he gave her a small bow.

“I’m Rae, princess of Wildania, and I thank you for retrieving my locket,” She said with a curtsy of her own.

“Would you like to accompany me back to my home?” Rae asked and Teran agreed fervently. They smiled at each other while their eyes sparkled. He was saved by a kiss. And even though it was a small grateful kiss something told Teran that he was going to be saved by many more…
