Roan an adventurous prince decided that wanted to sail the seas for a while. He didn’t have any destination in mind; he just wanted to be on the open ocean. So he told his parents, Eldrich and Erin, and brother,Teran, about his dream to sail the seas and they let him live out his dream. He boarded the next available ship he could find and he was off. It was the first time he did something that Teran didn’t do too and it felt quite empty but he knew he had to strike out on his own one day or another.

“How’s the weather, Captain?” Roan asked as he approached the captain of the Blue Siren.

“Perfect your highness,” the captain said with a toothy grin. He enjoyed having the young prince on his ship.

“Good, I’m grateful for the fine weather we’re having for this trip,” Roan said. Before long the sun was setting and the crew closed off the day with singing and dancing after a hearty supper. Roan enjoyed the crew’s company but after a while he bid them all good night before heading down to his cabin where he read a book for a while before falling asleep.

CRACK!

Roan was awoken with a huge cracking sound and immediately knew that something wasn’t right. He threw on a shirt before he rushed to the deck. A heavy storm was raging and the crew was battling against it. Roan immediately started to help but it was futile, the storm was just too rough. The waves got wilder and wilder and another ‘crack’ was heard as the ship was pushed against some jagged cliffs. Roan was thrown overboard before anyone could notice. Roan battled against the water as he was pushed to and fro by the raging waves. He fought for his life until he reached a beach. He was so exhausted by the time he reached the beach that he passed out instantly.

When Roan woke up he was tied to a pole in the middle of a tent. He looked around frantically trying to decipher where he was  but nothing could get him a clue and then the previous night’s events rushed through his mind and he realised that he must have been captured by the people living near the place he landed. Suddenly the tent was opened and his attention was drawn to a beautiful young girl with than skin and long black hair, simply put she was breath-taking and he struggled to catch his own.

“Who you?” She asked. Roan then realised that she must not know his own language so well.

“Roan, who you?” he asked back.

“Kaia, chief Firg daughter. You mean danger?” She asked and Roan immediately tried to reassure her. Just then a man entered the tent behind her and he explained his situation to them and who he was. They immediately apologised for tying him up and cut him loose. They also reported to him that there were no ships spotted along their beach and Roan assumed that the ship was thrown in another direction by the storm. The chief told him that they were going to hold a feast for his arrival and he thought that it would be nice to stay with these people until a rescue ship was sent for him.

The chief and the other villagers immediately made him feel welcome and they taught them all their ways of living, he enjoyed learning about their daily lives and he spent more and more time with the chief’s daughter, Kaia.

Months went by when finally one day a ship was spotted on the horizon. One of the scouts immediately brought the news of the incoming ship. Roan immediately knew it was a rescue ship and his suspicions were confirmed when he saw the row boats approaching the beach full of royal guards and knights. When they saw him approaching they were beyond glad to find their prince alive and well. The told him that his family missed him terribly and he couldn’t wait to see them again, but when he looked back to the villagers he saw Kaia with tears in her eyes. They both knew this day would come and he was happy and sad at the same time. But one thing was certain he wouldn’t go anywhere without this girl.

He made his way to the chief’s tent and asked his permission to marry his daughter and to take her with him. The chief saw the blooming love between them and knew he won’t come in between their love. Kaia and Roan bid the villagers goodbye before they returned to his kingdom to start their happily ever after together...
