Theodore found himself holding Steve's hand.
"What are they saying?" Steve whispered to him, and Theodore had to strain his ears.
"They've found the children, still in the mall, lower level. Keep all entrances locked down. Basically we're fucked," Theodore replied.
Someone's shoe squeaked. Theodore winced at the translation. They'd been found. He held onto Steve's hand as tight as he could, seeing a shadow approach where they were hiding.
They flinched at the car alarm going off. Theodore crouched up, looking at the car before he looked up at the upper level to see Eleven.
"Holy shit, Eleven," he said, surprised. He wasn't that surprised when the car went flying at the Russians, knocking them down, presumably killing them. The others stood up with Theodore. Theodore was surprised to see the rest of the group come back, Dustin's friends and Jonathan and Nancy.
They regrouped on the ground floor.
"You flung that thing like a Hot Wheel!" Dustin said excitedly, hugging both Mike and Eleven.
"Lucas?" Erica asked, surprised to see her brother there.
Lucas asked what she was doing there, and she blamed Steve and Robin, weirdly leaving Theodore out. "Theodore's a decent guy, I don't blame him."
He reached over and they bumped their fists together.
"True, yeah, totally true. It's absolutely our fault," Steve said.
"I don't understand what happened to that car."
Theodore looked at Robin. "Eleven's got superpowers and can do shit with her mind, don't ask." he said. She looked at him, looking panicked and scared over the thought of superpowers being in the real world before she nodded and didn't push further. She knew she'd get the info from him.
"That's El?" Erica asked, pointing to El, who wasn't looking too good.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Nancy asked Robin.
"I'm Robin, I work with Steve, best friends with Theo."
"She cracked the top secret Russian code," Theodore said in time with Dustin.
The others looked confused. "Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians," Steve told them, and the others looked even more confused at that.
"Russians, wait what Russians?"
"The ones infiltrating Hawkins and probably opening up the gate?" Theodore asked, looking at the kids. "None of you know about the Russians?" he asked.
They all started to squabble. Theodore chose to ignore them, and noticed El was walking away, not looking good.
He walked over to her. "Hey, El?" he asked, hand coming out to her. She made to grab onto him, and he saw the blood from her nose. "Hey," he said, catching her as she fell. "What's wrong?" he asked, putting her down onto the floor as the others rushed over to them.
