Happy Birthday! (Tadashi x Reader)

You smiled when you opened the door to see Honey Lemon, Fred, Wasabi, and GoGo standing on the front porch, all holding brightly colored presents. "Happy Birthday!" they chorused.

Stepping aside to let them in, you peered outside. It was pouring outside, and heavy clouds blocked the moon. "Where's Tadashi?" you asked. "And Hiro," you added, but it was too late.

"You like Tadashi?" Fred whooped, tossing a wrapped box on the table. "Who would've known?"

Your face heated up, but you rolled your eyes. "I'm just worried, since it's raining outside."

"Ri-i-i-ght." Fred nodded disbelievingly until GoGo punched him in the arm. "Shut up, it's her birthday."

You glanced around the living room. A lot of people from SFIT were there, including your friends. It was just Tadashi and Hiro that were missing.

Suddenly a loud clap of thunder made you jump. At the same time, there was a knock on the door. You rushed to open it, and to your relief, Tadashi and Hiro stood before you. 

"You made it!" you said happily, dragging them inside. Hiro shook his head, his raven black hair flying back and forth as he shook his head wildly. Water flew everywhere.

"Hiro!" Tadashi said sharply. He turned to you. "Sorry," he said sheepishly.

"It's okay," you smiled, and turned to Hiro. "Hey, Hiro, there's some hot wings on the food table."

"Great- I'm there!" he declared, hurrying to the dining room. Honey Lemon flashed you an encouraging smile, and headed to the pool table. GoGo followed her. Wasabi and Fred set off to watch a football game with a bunch of other guys.

Oh, come on. . . don't leave me alone with him, you begged silently. Tadashi glanced at you sideways, water dripping off his hat. "You okay, (Y/N)?"

You realized you had zoned out. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine," you said nervously, tucking a stray strand of (H/C) hair behind your ear. "I'll be checking on the cake." You quickly hurried off to the kitchen.

"(Y/N), wait!" Tadashi called, but you already ducked into the kitchen, where it was nice and quiet. You opened the fridge, and sure enough, the (Favorite Flavor) cake was there, its flawless icing smoothed perfectly.

"(Y/N)?" a voice said right behind you. You jumped and turned around to see it was Tadashi. "(Y/N), are you okay? You seem jumpy. Jittery." His voice was full of concern.

That's because I don't know how to tell you I like you! you thought. When Tadashi's face turned to a look of shock, you realized you had said it out loud. You clapped your hand over your mouth. "I-" you whispered.

"Hey, (Y/N)," he said kindly. "It's okay." He wrapped his arms around you and gave you a hug. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I didn't know how," you mumbled. "And I didn't want to embarrass myself if you rejected me."

"Reject you?" He pulled away, shocked. "Not in a million years." He laced his fingers around yours and pulled you back out to the party.
