CHAPTER ONE

Platform nine and three-quarters was known for the many goodbyes. Parents waved their children off for their departure towards Hogwarts, school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Liz used to be no exception. Her parents were always first in line, waving dramatically as the train took off. This time was different, it felt like everything had changed.

The brunette strolled down the platform with her trunk. Her head hung low as she tried not to glare at the families who bid their children goodbye. The platform alone made her shiver, she wasn't keen on the idea what seeing Hogwarts would do to her.

She made it into Hogwarts express, glad to no longer hear any mushy goodbyes. Happy families made her nauseous.

She got rid of her suitcase and walked through the train compartments, specifically looking for an empty spot near a door so she could get some air if necessary. It was lately that crowded spaces made her uncomfortable.

She groaned annoyedly when someone interrupted her search and bumped against her. She nearly stumbled over until he grabbed her lower arm to steady her. She looked up with a scowl, ready to yell when she realized who it was.

It was the person she had thought about more times than she wished to admit. He appeared almost completely different yet the grey eyes and pale blond hair hadn't changed. He wore an expensive black suit that embraced his broad torso perfectly. He was way taller than he used to be and even though she was quite tall herself, he made her feel tiny.

"Liz," his deep voice stated in shock. His eyes were wide open at the sight of the girl he thought he'd never see again. Her brown hair was even longer than before and nearly reached her waist. The green eyes looking back at him made him shiver, in a good way.

"Draco." she said in a stern voice, not breaking eye contact. He was about to open his mouth when she scurried off, not wanting to make it hard on herself. She could feel his eyes burning in the back of her head but she kept on going, her head pounding in her throat.

All the memories came flooding back at once, the good and the bad ones. Slytherin used to be the one place she could truly be herself. Where she wasn't judged for her strong personality and could truly accept herself. Unlike her family, Slytherin made her feel welcome for who she was.

She wiggled herself through a crowd of energized students and found herself an empty train compartment. She leaned back in the seat and let out a painfully long breath she had been holding in the entire time. Thinking she finally could be able to calm down her thoughts were interrupted by a high pitched squeal "Oh my god, Liz!"
