CHAPTER SEVEN

"You asked Marcus Belby to the dinner party? Why in the world would you ask him instead of me?" Liz asked, Blaise grinned to himself. He was officially part of the Slug Club and had been invited to Slughorn's infamous dinner party. Liz was more than bummed she didn't get an invite. After sending many letter to her parents about her good results in class she was hoping to give them even more good new by saying she got into the Slug Club but nonetheless she didn't.

"I'm sorry, Liz, he practically begged me to take him with me. I owed him for helping me last year."

Liz jutted her lower lip out, pouting dramatically like a little kid. Blaise chuckled and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Don't worry, you're my plus two to his Christmas get together."

Liz' face quickly turned into excitement. She squealed and jumped into his arms. Blaise's chest vibrated with laughter.

"Look at you two, if I didn't know you two I'd say you were a couple." Pansy said, smirking as she sat down on the other couch in the common room.

"Wait, who's a couple?" Goyle asked, plopping on the couch next to Pansy.

"We are!" Blaise said, wrapping an arm around Liz. "Yes, we are madly in love." added Liz. The two shared a look and bursted out in laughter.

"Ha ha, funny." said Goyle sarcastically. Liz rolled her eyes and leaned back in the couch. She was exhausted of the day, not only was schoolwork getting on her nerves but Draco was being more secretive than ever.

She gasped waking from the daily nightmare. She had only fallen asleep for a rough two hours. Her head was pounding as she sat on the edge of her bed, rubbing her temples in annoyance. She figured the headache was caused by everything that was going on. Not only was she still dealing with grief, her parents and school work but Draco was the one thing that occupied her thoughts.

The questions wandered through her mind. Not knowing why he'd do something as cursing an innocent girl was confusing and frustrating. The necklace had been meant for Dumbledore but there was no other logical explanation than it being involved with something way darker than everything she had expected. She knew very well what Draco's parents had always been involved with. But she had always hoped Draco would be smart enough to stay away from those things.

Sleepily she changed into sweatpants and a top. She was about to enter the common room when someone caught her sight. Looking in a hurry Draco rushed out the door.

She never hesitated and followed him suit, carrying her wand tightly as always. Her bare feet skipped over the cold stone floor in the dark corridors. Besides the light from his wand she couldn't see anything. She covered her mouth to mute the breathing sound. Draco was still completely dressed in his robes, giving away that he hadn't slept at all.
