Lola and I sat on my bed as Isabella played on the floor with her toys. "Mmmaamama, look I made a funny noise", she cackled. Lola smiled at her momentarily then turned back to me.

At this point, it's been six months and I'm beyond over this pregnancy thing. I hate the back pain, the eating, sleeping, the peeing, I just hate everything. My phone dinged and I went up on the website.

This stupid paparazzi website that takes pictures of influential people in Puerto Rico and Lino happens to be one. And it doesn't help that I'm his fiance pregnant with twins. They're like Eagles, they see everything.

"Look how fat I look Lola", I complain pointing at the picture. She rolls her eyes.

"It's not that bad", She shrugs. I glare at her and she sighs, looking at me as if scared to say anything else.

"Okay, you look like a Whale but it's okay because you look like a beautiful whale?" she says trying to win me over. I look over to Isabella then slowly lie on my back, a small pain spreading across my lower back.

"How's Nate?"

"He's at the hospital with Mera. Did she say when to come in?"
"Yeah she said to come in tomorrow to break my water because it's dangerous holding twins in overdue. It's a dangerous pregnancy as a whole", I say scratching my eyebrows.

She hums and pulls out the rmote and switches the channel. "Sweetheart, I promise after you give birth to the twins and stop breast feeding I'm gonna take you to the cheapest bar in town and we're gonna get drunk. Leave the kids home with their fathers and head out!" She says.

I was so happy to hear that, tears came to my eyes. We both laugh when she sees that I'm crying for that. Just then, Lino comes in and his face twists in concern and he rushes to my side.

"What's wrong?"

"She's crying because she won't be able to get drunk for a while and she looks like a whale", Lola says looking at the TV. I groan and feel him rub my back. "That feels good honey". He sits behind me and begins massaging

"Hey! What are you two perverts doing behind there?" Lola says hiding Isabella's face. We both chuckle and she lifts her up and stands.

"Guys, I think we're heading out now. Gotta go drop her off to Nate so I can head to my meeting." She says air-kissing me and sending a middle finger to Lino.

He stops and wraps his arms around my chest. He kisses my cheek and I relax in his arms. "I'm nervous about tomorrow.

"Don't think too much about it. Twin pregnancies happen like this all the time".
"I know but I just wish they'd come aturally".

"I know", he kisses my cheek again then rocks me slowly.

Narrator's POV

Lino drove Catalina to the hospital because she had been aching all morning and all evening. They had went earlier and he had to go close up his business for the day. He was getting very worried and he was also glad Mera suggested they break her water today. The twins were due three days ago. Her face is swollen, she's weak. Those babies are literally sucking the life out of her..which is sucking the life out of Lino.

When Lino came back the nurses had already checked her and then they led me to her room. He put her bag on the chair in the room then the doctr came in.

The doctor entered in green scrubs, her black hair tied low in a pony tail. Catalina sat up a little higher to get a better look. She was Indian looking with large brown eyes, neatly lined in black. She had the lithe movement of an athlete and the easy smile of one visiting a dear friend. She spoke with an american accent and with her hands. With each word the fine fingers would flourish into the stagnant hospital air like birds, then settle as she listened to the answer like she had all the time in the world and nothing could interest her more than what Catalina had to say. So this was her surgeon. Younger than they had expected but somehow they didn't mind anymore. Those hands were beautiful, precise, elegant.
