Demi's pov

Life is a crazy thing and I never in a million years think if he the maternal figure for Coraly. Mom and dad practically stopped calling for updates the second she came back to my house the second time. It's been 11 years and Coraly only keeps in contact with me. She cut mom and dad out and Dallas and Madison she hardly has a relationship with anymore which is sad to see.

I hear my front door open and none other than Coraly herself walks through the front door with her husband Colton. Their beautiful daughter Jade comes running my way, "Aunt DemDem!"

Yes, you heard that right. Coraly is married to Colton. It was only a year with Zoey when things crashed down and a friend Coraly had made in school turned into something more. She was terrified but she was able to push through the past and trust him and honestly, they are perfect.

I pick up the three year old at my feet and lift her into my hip, "Whatcha up to munchkin? Hmm?"

She giggled, "Nothing."

"Talking about how much she wants to see aunt demdem and refusing a nap until she could come see her." Colton says.

I tickle Jades stomach causing her to erupt into laughter and Coraly and Colton walk to the kitchen bar.

Coraly sets a photo on the counter and I look down at it to see an ultrasound photo and I check the date and look at her excitedly, "you're pregnant?!"

She nods with a smile, "Yeah, you get to be an aunt to a boy."

"I get a brother!" Jade cheers.

I turn my head to her, "How long did you know and not tell aunt Demi?" I ask.

She grins, "A long time. Mommy said keep it a secret."

She begins to squirm in my arms and I set her down and give Coraly a hug, "Congratulations Coraly. You've done amazing with her, you're going to do amazing with him."

"Thank you, but stop. You're going to make me cry. My hormones are all over the place." She chuckles.

I kiss the top of her head, "You're such a good mom."

"Thank you, but I learned everything I know from my older sister who mommed me for several years." She says.

I don't like to brag, but I think I did good. Coraly is an amazing mom and she really could've turned out to be a bad one with the lack of maternal figures in her life. But when she found out she was pregnant with Jade it's been Coraly just being a natural mom. That little girl has two incredible parents.

I watch jade run to the living room and I can't help but take the opportunity to tease Colton and Coraly, "So you two have been pretty busy?" I ask.

"Demi." Coraly says slapping my arm.

I'm an older sister what else am I supposed to do other than tease my younger sister? The opportunity was right there.

"On a serious note, I'm going to need you there like I did the first time. Will-"

"Yes I'll be there. I'm not going to make you feel like you don't have anyone there beside Colton and his parents. I know I'm you're only support system and I'm not going to let you down. I promise." I say.

She gives me a weak smile, "Thank you."

••••
Five months later I received the call from Colton that Coraly was in labor and within 30 minutes I was at the hospital. Coraly is in clear distress and Coltons doing just best to calm her, but can't.

I walk to the other side of her hospital bed and Coraly looks up at me, "I can't." She panicks.

"You can, you did it once. I remember seeing Jade came out of your vagina so you can't tell me you didn't do it. Just breathe. Stop panicking and worrying about how bad it's going to hurt or what's going to happen. Trust your doctor, trust Colton, trust me. He is going to be perfectly fine. That baby boy is going to be totally ok. You stressing and worrying is only causing more pain for yourself and you don't need that." I say.

She reaches for my hand and I let her hold it as Colton wipes the sweat from her face with a wash cloth. He then puts her hair into a ponytail and kisses her forehead, "You're doing great Cora, you're already halfway there." He says.

"I remember when I had Colton, that was the wo-"

Colton looks up to his mom, "Mom, not now."

"Why am I not stronger then this? Demi I made it through all the other stuff and didn't cry of pain but I can't do this." Coraly whispers in tears.

"That's a different type of pain Coraly. You can't compare the two. You are strong and stop telling yourself you're not just because you're shedding tears of pain." I argue.

"I'd be screaming at this point so you are much stronger than me." Colton says.

Within an hour coraly's relying on Colton more than me and as of now she's just sitting in her bed leaning into his chest. She's still holding my hand but there's not much I'm really doing other than that.

"You're doing incredible Cora." Colton says.

"No I'm not." She whispers.

"Babe you're dilated to 7 cm and still aren't using an epidural. That's incredible." He says.

"I'll probably cave."

"And that's ok. Do what you have to in order to have that baby. You don't have to suffer through this Coraly. This isn't some form of punishment." I say.

"Demi I think I found out why you don't have kids. I traumatized you the first time." She says.

I chuckle, "Thats not why. And I Kinda have a kid. I get to see Jade pretty often."

I'm their babysitter usually. But that's not to say that babysitting slows me down career wise. It doesn't. Jade loves the studio and getting to hear me sing so she's more than happy when I say I have a studio day. Or if I have a meeting, hand her my phone and she's good the entire way through.

I'm proud of them for everything though. Coraly moves out at 19 and started working at 16. She absolutely refused to let me buy it pay for anything once she turned 16. They got an apartment at 19 and at 22 a house once they got married. That same year is when little Jade was born. They've supported themselfs and have worked hard so if I'm needed for a day of babysitting duty for them to have time to themself, I'm up for it.

"Yeah, Dianna found out about her last week and started trying to contact me. I blocked her new number. The only grandma she needs is her real one and my mom is being a better one than she's ever be."

"I usually take the photos and drawings off the fridge when I know she's coming but she stopped by without warning to tell me about a family death. That's when she saw everything and I couldn't think of a lie." I admit.

"Not your fault." She says.

By 2 in the morning Coraly's finally dilated fully and after only 3 pushes her son was born. A whole 10 less than the first time.

"He's here, you did it." I smile at her.

Coraly pants out of breath and Colton wipes the sweat from her face and chest again, "Whats his name?" I ask.

"Julian." She smiles.

"Jade and Julian." I say.

"Don't worry, we're stopping after these two. You won't have to babysit more than two." She says.

"Hey, what you two is your business. You have raised one well behaved, well mannered, and easy child. Babysitting isn't too hard." I say.

Coraly looks to Colton and smiles at him with so much light in her eyes. That light hasn't left since the two of them met. Even when they were just friends she was always so happy to talk about him. It gave me hope that he'd be the person to teach her not all guys are going to hurt her, i was right. He was patient, he was understanding, he was sympathetic, he was always there.

I'm proud of how far she's come and I am lucky to have gotten to be there for all the firsts. The first relationship, the first heart break, the first prom, the first driving lesson, the wedding, the first pregnancy, the first birth, the first steps of their daughter, just so much. I missed a lot in the beginning but seeing where Coraly is now is truly remarkable. I wasn't even sure she'd make it to see all this, but she has.

She may be my little sister but I feel more of like a proud mom every time something exciting happens in her life. This is what she deserves, happiness.
