Coraly's pov

When Demi said we should go camping in the backyard, she really meant we will go camping in the backyard.

"See isn't this fun?" She asks.

"So were sleeping in here?" I ask.

"Yeah, it'll be fun!" She says.

I guess the bright side is the air mattresses aren't too uncomfortable. Plus Demi did get a lot of snacks in here. The blankets make it cozy too and there's a lot of pillows. She has her laptop in here for movies and I have my phone.

"Ok I think we should watch a Disney movie now. Which one have you heard about that you've always wanted to watch?" Demi asks.

"None, they all seem boring and I've never wanted to watch one." I say.

"Ok, what movie do you want to watch?" She asks.

"I don't really like movies." I say.

"Ok, what would you like to do?" She questions.

"I don't know." I say quietly.

"You know what that sounds like?" She asks.

"No." I say.

"The 'I know what I want, but I'm scared to ask' voice." She says.

I look down at my hands and she lets out a soft sigh, "You can ask me anything Coraly, I'm not going to be upset."

"It's fine, you don't even have an answer to the question anyway." I say.

"I may know the answer. I know a lot more than you give me credit for." She says.

I don't know why, but lately my minds really been wandering to my parents. I have so many questions I know Demi doesn't have the answer too. I don't think Dianna and Eddie even have the answers to them.

"What do you know about my parents?" I ask.

She stops chewing the cheese itz in her mouth as she looks at me. I can't tell if it's because I've caught her off guard with the question or because she knows something but doesn't want to tell me.

She stays frozen for a few moments as she stares down at me laying on the air mattress. I stare at her sitting on her air mattress as she finally swallows the food in her mouth.

She lets out a deep breath, "I know a little more than I'm supposed to. My parents wanted to keep who your parents were out of our brains. They wanted us to know nothing more than you were our sister and that they are now your parents. I had asked a few times who they were and the answer was they don't know. I don't know if they truthfully ever did. I don't know if they learned the names of your birth parents, I think they just knew your diagnosis at the time we adopted you and that you had been abused." She says.

I stare at her confused, "What do you know?" I ask.

"When you were transported to a hospital in Los Angeles a woman was crying when she looked at you. I overheard her say, 'I can't do this, that's my daughter. Someone else needs to be her doctor' and she was just heartbroken looking at you. I had read her name tag a few times and I may or may have not hired a private investigator to give me everything he could on her." She admits.

"Why was I given up?" I ask.

"Are you sure you want to have this conversation?" She asks and I nod, "Yes."

"I couldn't find an exact reason Coraly. We found your birth certificate with your fathers name on it and a few months prior your mom had filed several police reports over abuse from him. She was only sixteen and he was twenty." She says.
