"Tey voy a matar"
"Oh, that's so not gonna happen" I say, eyeing him as he approaches. I can't just cut their restraints, it's not rope, it's chain. Looks like I'll have to figure this out on my own.
"Do something, cop!" Luis yells.
"¡Oh, cállate la boca!" I bait him in just the right spot and then dodge as he brings the axe down. It cuts the chain binding Leon and Luis together.
"See!? I'm smart!"
Leon kicks the axe wielding man just as he lifts the axe, throwing him backwards into the wall, cracking his neck. Techniques like that were not stuff taught in training. Weirdo Leon just kind of picked them up and learned them on his own.
Kind of like how they don't teach you how to break boulders with just a punch, but then we have Chris Redfield out here abusing rocks with his knuckles.
Luis runs off, but I don't stop him. If he's not an enemy of ours, then there's no reason to.
Leon radios out to Hunnigan. "It's Leon. Sorry I couldn't get in touch sooner, but I was a bit tied up."
I nearly slap him for making such an awful pun.
"You're both okay, right?"
"We're fine. There was a male civilian held captive. According to him, Ashley's in a church somewhere."
"What happened to him?"
"He managed to escape"
"Do you have a fix on the location of that church?"
"No, but apparently there's a secret passage in the village that leads there." Leon says "We're heading back to the village." He disconnects.
As we begin to leave, a man will a large bag on his back approaches the window. I jump in surprise.
"Over here, strangers"
I turn to Leon, unsure, but he seems to find this mysterious man very trustworthy, so I follow him.
"Got something that might interest ya. Hehehe..." He opens his coat. There's ammo, weapons, and all kinds of things in there.
Good thing he wasn't just showing us his naked body or something. With how this day has been going, I really expected no less.
"Got a selection of good things on sale, stranger!"
Is this guy Australian?
"See, Leon? This is why it's good to loot houses!" I hand over a bunch of gold coins I stole-Uh-I mean borrowed from the villagers.
He hands me the rifle I request, and I strap it over my back. I flash a smirk over at Leon, who shakes his head in disbelief.
"Fine, whatever, just don't go looting people back at home."
"Well back at home, people don't just leave their money sitting around. These guys make it too easy."
He rolls his eyes, so I elbow him.
"Thank you for the rifle, Mr. Merchant!" I thank him as we walk away.
I notice more villagers in the distance, probably there to keep a vigilant eye on the area. I rest my rifle on the hole in the wall near us and start firing off headshots to get rid of these assholes. When they finally realize what's going on, they start making their way over to us. Leon takes care of them, covering me while I dispatch the last few in the distance to ease our escape.
"¡Aquí están!"
"Yeah, here we are" I move from my spot, strapping my rifle back. I start using my handgun to assist Leon. It's like these guys never run out of numbers or something.
More dynamite throwers start coming out of the woodworks, making this a little harder than it has to be.
I notice a chest to my right, and I open it. It has half of a hexagon in there. I pick it up and start looking for the other half that has to be somewhere around here. A villager blocks the second chest, shouting curses at me in Spanish. I roll my eyes and shoot him, stepping over his body which is now just a puddle of whatever. I pick up the second half and combine them.
"Leon? I think I found something important...?" Nothing "Leon?!"
I walk outside, there is a villager holding Leon by the shoulders, and trying to throw him off of the bridge. I come up behind him and stick my knife right in the back of his head.
"Thanks, Ivette."
"Yeah, no problem"
"What were you saying about something important?"
"I found this weird medallion. It might be important, I'm not sure."
A villager angrily throws a knife in our direction, his aim needs some adjustment though. He just threw it over the bridge like some very bad Christmas gift.
Once we've cleared out the whole area, I start picking up boxes of ammo. I also find a flash grenade.
"Looting again?" Leon asks.
"It's the least they can do for making me use up so much of my resources on killing them. They owe me." I say "And those dynamite throwers are very rude!"
We approach the gate, finding it closed. There is a hexagonal indentation in the center, so I place the medallion in the center. The door opens instantly.
"Hah! Knew it was important!" I whisper, and Leon pats me on the head.
There is a small path that leads inside a building. I'm really beginning to wonder if all of this trouble is worth some snooty college girl.
"Anybody home?" I ask as I kick a door open.
"¡Agarralos!"
"Apparently yes"
It's like a non-stop game of whack-a-mole with these guys. The next room is even worse, two dynamite throwers, making us have to duck and hide behind a container. We both take on one villager, shooting their hands before they can even throw the dynamite, making them explode.
There are even fucking bear traps laid out onto the floor. As if a bear would want to come anywhere near these psychopaths.
A guy comes out of the other room, ready to throw an axe. Leon literally kicks him so hard that he actually explodes. Unbelievable.
It's kind of like everyone has cool superpowers here, and I was left out or something. Chris has the power of boulder smashing, Leon has the power of exploding people with his kicks, and I have the power of complaining endlessly for hours without getting tired.
So, moving on, the path we have to take is basically underground. Now, I have no problem with being underground, as long as it doesn't involve sewers.
And considering how lucky I am, how much the universe cherishes me, the path we have to take involves nasty sewer water. I was a fool to do my makeup for this mission and expect it to stay perfect or something.
Really sucks because I used my favorite body wash today and now it's gonna be like I never even took a shower in the first place.
Leon jumps down, and then looks up at me. "Ivette."
"Haha, um, no."
