"Haha, um, no."

He stares emotionlessly at me. He's known me for six years. He knows I'd rather not be left up here by myself. He knows eventually, I'll come down there.

"Leon, there isn't another way?"

"No." He says "It's just a short walk, there's a ladder up to the surface right over there."

I jump up and down angrily, like some toddler having a tantrum. "But I just did my hair!"

"Then don't get it in your hair" He holds his arms out. "Here, I'll catch you."

I jump down, finally, and as promised, he catches me. I groan as I set my feet down in the gross, dirty, contaminated water. I shiver in disgust as the water climbs up my legs. At least the ladder is right there, I guess.

The surface is quiet, no one around to attack us. We head into the large building and come across a door with a stupid puzzle.

I hate puzzles.

He twists the crystal ball in the door and something activates. The door slides open.

Leon starts rummaging through the drawers and I look over a note found on the bed.

"Hey, Leon, come over here."

Chief's note.

As instructed by Lord Saddler, I have the agent in confinement, alive. Why keep him alive? I do not fully understand what the Lord's intentions are.

I would, however, think he'd keep them separate, not confine them together as has been ordered.

I don't expect Luis would trust a stranger, but if by any chance, they did cooperate, the situation could get a bit more complicated.

If, for some reason, an unknown third party is involved, I don't think they'd let a chance like this slip by.

But maybe it's all Lord Saddler's ploy - leaving us vulnerable, so that this third party will surface, if they even exist that is...

It's an unlikely possibility, but if a prowler is already amongst us, then our plans could be ruined.

I guess the Lord thinks it's worth the risk, if we're able to stop whatever conspiracy is at work.

At any rate, it's the Lord's call.
We will trust his judgement as always.

"Huh?" I am confused "I get that they're talking about you and Luis in the beginning, but I just don't get the whole picture. Like for example, what the hell is going on around here?"

Leon shrugs "We'll probably figure it all out along the way."

I open the metal door leading out of the room. I can hear talking in the distance. One voice is incredibly high pitched, how gross.

As I walk out into the hallway, something sends me flying into the wall at the end of the hallway. I soon realize I have been punched. I crack open an eye, to see my attacker grab Leon by the neck. The bearded man looks over at me, as if to check if I'm dead. I stay in my spot, unmoving, my limbs in awkward positions that cause me immense discomfort.

Playing dead seems to work, as he moves his attention to Leon, who is gasping for air and reaching out for me. It takes all of my self control to not move.

He eventually throws him to the ground, eyeing him down dangerously.

"You carry the same blood as us, it seems. Nevertheless, you're an outsider. Remember. If you become unpleasant to our eyes, you will face severe consequences."
