Among Us [Volume 2]

Chapter 14

"Are you okay, guys?"

Ashley runs over to us.

"Yeah, we're fine. We just got rid of The Chief, so, we don't have to worry about him anymore." I say with a smile on my face.

We make our way back to the gate with the face on it. It's a long trip, but it's at the very least, quiet. Leon takes out the false eye and holds it in front of the gate. It glows and then opens.

Oh shit, he was right.

Leon sends me a glare, but I ignore him. I am definitely not feeding into his temper today.

Once we get through the gate, we can see that there are lit torches in the distance.

"Oh, looks like we've got a welcoming party." I say, reloading my Red9.

"Ashley, stay close." Leon says.

I see headlights start coming towards us. It's a truck.

"Uh? Should we run?" Ashley asks.

It literally barrels right over the Ganados holding torches. I narrow my eyes and pull out my rifle, shooting the driver between the eyes. The truck topples over onto it's side and we walk around it. More Ganados are waiting for us. We take them out as we make our way to the bridge. The stampeding sound of Ganados prompts us to turn around.

There's literally a stampede of them racing towards us with torches. We run across the bridge and look back at them once more.

"You take that one." Leon motions to the crank to my left.

"Right."

I run over to the crank and we both start turning it. The drawbridge opens, preventing the Ganados from crossing over to get us.

"Ah, we should be okay for a while." I say, letting out a breath of relief.

The Merchant is conveniently waiting for us, I don't ask how he knows where we're going every time, but that's some real customer service right there.

We sell back all of our guns in order to purchase the better ones he says he has. Two Blacktail handguns, for both Leon and I. The Riot Gun, for Leon which is just a beastly shotgun and then a Semi-Automatic Rifle for myself. I also buy the scope for the Semi, just cause it makes sense.

What did we buy Ashley? Nothing. She can continue to hide in trash bins for all I care.

We make our way through the castle. There are two robed guys-cultists, that are just kind of walking around "patrolling" I suppose. I use this as an opportunity to test out my new rifle, taking them out quickly and efficiently. A little further ahead, there's two cultists with a catapult who start trying to recreate when the asteroid hit the planet and killed all of the dinosaurs, us being the dinosaurs in this sense.

Running and constantly taking cover is something we have to do, despite it severely slowing us down. We've gotten this far, it would suck to die here.

I start trying to take out the catapults along the way, while Leon covers Ashley and I. Once all of the catapults are taken care of, we move onwards, but can't really find a way inside from where we are. Leon mentions something about seeing a cannon earlier and runs off looking for it I guess.
