The following morning, I woke up with a slight pain in my hip...then I realized I was laying on the floor. I crawled my way back to bed. After a few seconds, my eyes popped open and I snatched the clock off of my nightstand. 10:07?!
I threw on some clothes, brushed my teeth, and washed my face in one fell swoop, then I grabbed my bag and rushed out the door.
"Dammit, why does this building have to be so far?!" I thought as I sprinted down the sidewalk.Once I got there, I opened a double door entrance that let to the back of small auditorium. I crouched down to not make a scene and sat down to check my phone; 10:15. I threw my head back sigh as I heard the door open behind me. A person wearing all black walked around to the other end of my row and threw their body into the chair then leaned back. They had long black and blue ombré hair with one side shaved off—which caught my attention.
It's...a guy. He darted his eyes in my direction and I immediately turned away, pretending to be on my phone.
I peeked over my shoulder and saw him put on some headphones—I could hear the music from where I was...
"—Does anyone have any questions?" I heard the professor asked. "Since it's the first day I'll let you guys out early."
I grabbed my things and walked down towards the the podium to meet my professor."Hi, Mr..."
"Tunnel." He reached to shake my hand.
"Simon Carp, sir."
"Ah, Mr. Carp...I believe I marked you as absent for today." He said while searching through papers.
"I'm so sorry, sir. I woke up late and—"
"Oh don't worry it's fine. Here's the syllabus and information about your partner and the first assignment." He handed me two sheets of paper."Dexter Sun, huh... I guess I'll see him next class." I walked away.
"Dexter..." I heard a voice say behind me. I turned around and saw the ombré haired standing with the professor. Wait..."Oh, Mr. Carp!" Mr. Tunnel called to me, "Your in luck, your partner is here!"
I slowly turned around and locked eyes with Dexter as he stalked towards me. He stood close and offered his hand as if he wanted something.
"Uh...yes?" I asked.
"Phone." He said in a husky voice.
I opened and slowly handed him my phone. With a few swipes and a couple thumb taps, he handed it back to me and readjusted his headphones.
"Text me." He simply said as he walked out.Flabbergasted, I slowly turned to walk out and headed straight towards my apartment. What the hell was that?
