That evening, we made some popcorn and watched my favorite show.
"Oh, Mr. Tunnel was wondering about you." Dexter shouted from couch.
"Yeah, I'll meet up with him. I gotta call my boss, too." I came to the couch and sat the bowl of popcorn between us. I sat Indian style and grabbed the remote to pull up Netflix.

"You're so feminine." He didn't look up from his phone.
"How?" I asked, annoyed by that specific word.
"Look at how your sitting." He waved one hand, "Mr. Princess."
"Okay? It's comfortable." I shrugged. He raised an eyebrow and turned to the tv. I grabbed a pillow from the couch and threw it at his head.
"Really, Simon?" He had a playful smile as he threw it back. He pulled me by an arm and I fell onto him.
"Don't test me Simon..." he said in mischievously tone while putting an arm around my neck.
"What are gonna do, choke me?" I tried pulling out of his grasp.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" He said in my hear.

A chill went down my spine and I pushed him off of me.
"You spilled the popcorn." He stated the obvious.
"You pulled me!" I stood to clean it up.
"It's your fault; you triggered me."
I threw what fell on the floor in the trash and he ate the remainder out of the bowl.

"What kind of toys do you have for Benjamin?" He asked. I was taken back by his question.
"Uh, he has a couple of cat wands, but the only thing I've seen him actually play with was a bottle cap and one of those plastic rings that you take off of a milk jugs." I came back to the couch, "Why?"

"Don't worry about it."
"Then why'd you ask?" I shrugged.
He threw a pillow at me, "Stop asking questions."
I turned away from him and pouted.

"Aww, is widdle Simon gonna cwy?" He mocked. I angrily threw the pillow at him and he laughed. There was knock at the door and I went to go answer it.
"Oh, hey Alice!" I let her in. She stopped and crossed her arms.
"What is he doing here?" She turned to me.
Dexter gave me a puzzled look.
"Um, we were just—"
"Do you know how much shit you put him through?!" She snapped at him. He stared at her unfazed. Uh oh...

"You were crying over this guy for almost two weeks and you just forgive him, just like that?" She returned to me, "He broke your heart, Simon!"
"Alice, it's fine now—" I tried reassuring her.
"No! I wanna hear his side of the story." She put a hand on her hip.

"I don't have to tell you shit, because it's none of your fucking business." I heard anger rise in his voice.
"It is my business—you didn't give a damn about him after you left!" She stepped up to him, "He was unable to eat and sleep and—let me guess, all you gave him was a simple apology."

He glared at her and stood up to walk out, slamming the door behind him.
"What's wrong with you?" She turned to me.
"What's wrong with you?!" The tone in my voice rose. "You can't just come in and attack somebody like that!"
"Why not?! He shouldn't even be here!"
"Alice, it wasn't just him that was in the wrong. We both were going through the same thing so we talked it out and everything is fine now!"

"Well, does he know you cried over him? Does he know that he left you in a state where you couldn't take care of yourself? Did he show any empathy towards your feelings?!" She hammered me with questions.

"Look," I sighed. "I appreciate the attitude towards our situation, but I did not want it to go this way. Everything's fine, okay?"
Her furious eyes stared into mine, then she looked down and sighed.
"Fine." She crossed her arms. "I'm sorry, I just don't wanna see you go through that again."
"It won't, don't worry." I reassured her. She pouted and pulled me into a hug.

"If anything goes wrong, I want you to tell me."
"I will." I gave a small smile, "If it does...try not to kill him."
"I won't make any promises." She went to the door, "I'll see you later."

When she opened it, I walked out behind her and saw Dexter leaning against the wall near the stairs. Alice marched past him and soon left the building.
He glanced at me and strode towards me with his hands in his pockets.
"...what was up with her?" He asked with raised brows.
"Her and I are really close, so she considers me as her brother." I explained, "When I told her about us, she was pissed."
"Yeah, no shit..." he glanced at the stairs.

When we went back inside, I went to sit on the couch and he started to grab his phone and keys.
"Where are you going?" I asked, getting up once more.
"Home. I've got something that I need to take care of."

"Oh." I looked down.
"Don't give me that look..." he lifted my chin to kiss me. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay."
