every painting needs a frame
that frame you get to pick
though you have to choose the frame
on which your painting will sit
for failure to contain
your wild journey's portrait,
living without frame,
marks you doomed
to live in the frame of another
and bleed endlessly into
the unwalled ocean surrounding you
