prompt - ricky and nini spend their first night together after getting back together

ricky stood nervously outside of the salazar-roberts home. dana and carol were in new york on a trip leaving nini by herself. naturally, after much convincing, nini invited ricky to stay with her.

at first it was very exciting for them both. but now, ricky was beyond nervous. this would be the first time they couple would be having a 'sleepover' since they got back together on the opening night of the winter musical.

right as ricky was going to ring the doorbell, the door swung open. there nini stood with a wide grin on her face. "that was fast," he laughed. nini's smile toned down.

"oh i mean i wasn't waiting or anything," she quickly rushed out making ricky laugh.

"relax nini, i thought it was funny," ricky responded, placing a soft kiss to her forehead. nini let out a sigh of relief she didn't know she was holding.

the couple then moved upstairs. ricky placed his bags in the corner of nini's room while she went over and jumped on her bed. ricky turned around and grinned at his girlfriend. "want to join?" she laughed.

ricky grinned before running over and jumping on the bed beside her. nini quickly snuggled up next to him.

"are you hungry?" she mumbled, starting a conversation.

"i could eat," ricky replied casually, moving so him and nini were sitting up. "i'll take that as a yes. i'll order from that one restaurant you like," nini laughed and with a quick kiss she was up grabbing her phone.

a couple moments later she returned. "alright, i ordered our usual, it should be here in 40 minutes or so," nini explained. ricky glanced up. "so we got time?" he said with a hint of a suggestive tone. "i guess so," nini replied.

ricky quickly smiled before pressing his lips softly against nini's. right as nini softly pushed ricky down on the bed, her phone rang. both groaned.

"it's just my moms, they want to facetime," she explained.

"hey nini!" carol greeted before following up with, "is ricky there yet?"

nini nodded, adjusting the camera so he was in view. "yeah he got hear a little bit ago, we just ordered food. anyway, what's up?"

"oh nothing, just checking in. is ricky spending the night in the guest room or staying with you? it doesn't exactly matter but there's just no sheets on the bed in the guest room" this time dana asked.

the couple glanced at each other, not having discussed this yet. however, nini took charge.

"yeah i think so," nini bluntly said.

"okay, we trust you. we have to go though, the show starts in an hour. text us later. love you," carol spoke.  "love you too. have fun!" nini smiled as she clicked the 'hang up' button.

  nini then turned to ricky. "sorry, i'm not sure if you're comfortable staying in the same bed yet. if not i can go make the guest bed, it's honestly fine. i just needed to tell my moms something and i guess i-" she rushed out quickly.

  ricky grabbed her hand reassuringly. "it's fine neens, i'm okay with it if you are." nini glanced up and nodded. "you really are the best."

  "i know," ricky said proudly, resulting in a punch in the arm.

  the rest of the night the couple ate, watched movies, and sang a little. but it was nearly midnight and both wanted to head in for the night. they were both in the bathroom upstairs, brushing their teeth while listening to a random song in the back.

  "have you taken your meds?" nini asked.

  ricky mentally groaned. "no i forgot," he said before rushing out of the bathroom and to his bag. after finding the orange pill bottle, he made his way back into the bathroom and grabbed a cup of water. the pills were for his anxiety and he had to take them regularly.

  "thanks for reminding me," ricky told nini. "always," she responded as she washed her face.

  10 minutes later, the couple were back in nini's room. nini went and sat on her bed, opening her arms. ricky took the invitation and followed her, moving he's head so it was in her lap. he hummed in content at the contact. suddenly, a loud yawn disrupted the domestic moment.

  "how are you tired?" nini laughed at her boyfriend.

  "side effect of the meds. make me drowsy," ricky explained. nini's mouth moved into an 'o' shape. "why don't we go to bed," she suggested. ricky nodded against her leg before rolling off of her.

  nini got up to turn out the lights and move a few things around. after sending a quick goodnight text, she slipped into bed beside ricky.

  "goodnight richard," she spoke after placing a soft kiss to his cheek.

  it was muffled but she still understood ricky reply with, "goodnight nina." finally, nini reached over and shut her beside lamp off, leaving the room completely dark.

  ricky was still awake but he knew he would be asleep soon. so, after feeling the covers pull back up, he shifted so his head was in nini's chest. this was common for them. he smiled once he felt her hand wrap around him.

  he slept incredibly that night.
