Risky River (encounter idea)

Here's one for you DM's that want a good old river fight.

The players have to get a cross somewhat deep river & there isn't a bridge in sight. If they decided to wade though the river to the other side they will be attacked by some monsters while going across. These monster can either be a creature that would live in the water (piranhas, water weird, hulking crab) or some marauding monsters (orcs, goblins, kobolds)
