"The man of your dreams has arrived in real life! You don't have to dream anymore!" Dana screamed into my ear as I groaned in frustration.
"Why are you in my room, on my bed, at literally six in the morning?" I asked after I came to my senses. How he got into my house at six is probably a good question too.
"I am going to drive you to school today so that I can see your friends and classmates and stuff." He told me smiling brightly. Ugh, why must today be a Monday? This weekend was going so well and then stupid Monday had to ruin it.
"Okay, I'm up. Why do you want to take me to school? It's the same as you left it. I'm friends with everyone you were when you went there." I told him as I sat upright. Looking around, I acknowledged the book on the floor and realized that I must have fallen asleep reading. Kicking the covers off of my legs, I headed to my dresser to get my clothes out for the day. At my school, we had to wear a uniform so I grabbed a white button up top, black khaki pants, and my black blazer with the logo on it. I pulled out some black flats and put them next to my bed on the chair.
"I just want to take you, okay? I'll be downstairs." He told me while making his way to the stairs. I headed to the shower and quickly washed up before going out into my room and putting on lotion. When that was done I put on my clothes and makeup before checking the time. As the time read six forty-five I realized that I forgot to charge my phone; the seven percent glowing red in the corner. I grabbed my phone charger out of my bag from the weekend and put it in my book bag before heading to the stairs. I was glad my teachers hadn't given any homework this weekend as I went into the kitchen.
Dana was sat there with a cup of tea at his right side and a butter knife in his left hand. I smiled at his gesture as I saw him placing the peanut butter on the toast. I felt my heart constricting as he remembered what I ate basically every morning before school - when I woke up on time.
"Good Morning sunshine!" Dana said to me as I made my way to the bar seat. Replying with a good morning of my own, I watched him bring over my breakfast and head back for his own. We sat in silence, just eating and enjoying each other's company until we heard my mother from up the stairs screaming my name. I heard her confused voice call out to me again as she came down the stairs, stopping at the sight.
"Dana, have I ever told you how much we missed you here? You got her out of the bed before seven and she's eating breakfast!" My mother exclaimed, coming closer so she could hug Dana. She made her way back up the steps and we heard the shower start while she started talking to my dad. We both laughed, knowing how hard it was for me to get out the bed in the morning for school and continued with breakfast.
"Ready?" He asked once I had packed my snacks for class and checked my makeup one more time. I nodded as we made our way to the door to leave. The ride to school was basically us singing along to 'Live Forever' and 'Champagne Supernova' by Oasis. The smooth melodies always seem to calm me down before I lead into something as daunting as school.
By the time we arrived at the school, the front was packed with students. It seemed as if everyone was watching us pull in the parking lot. I know his car is nice but there's no need to stare people.
Once we got to the front, I leaned over to hug him and got out. I heard gasps come from everyone around me and turned to see that Dana had gotten out of the car and was following me.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he walked with me into the school. He just smiled while walking alongside me. I shook my head at his childishness, walking to first period which was Sociology. As we walked through the halls I heard murmurs with both of our names from my classmates. It's like they didn't already know we were best friends or something.
