"Wanna talk about it?"
"I just needed to go somewhere where he wouldn't find me and you were my only hope." Calum strained to hear what the older man was saying as they made their way towards the oversized kitchen.
"Coffee? Tea?"
"Where's Luke?" Michael ignored the question as he tried to find the man who always interfered with their conversations.
"Sleeping. I didn't wake him." Calum spoke cautiously as he turned the kettle on for both of them, "tea or coffee?" He tried again, the mild concern on his face was enough to make the black haired man look down; ashamed.
"You ever get the feeling that someone is watching you?" A defeated sigh was given in response as the brunet gave up trying to find the answer he was looking for as he made them both coffee.
"Yeah, I guess? I think everyone gets that feeling at least once in their lives." The answer wasn't the one the older male was looking for as he gave a grunt before distracting himself with his snake who decided to slide between his fingers in an attempt to lessen the stress of the man.
The red cup of coffee was placed in front of Michael causing the man to grimace and push it back towards the younger male who furrowed his eyes in confusion before giving him a glass of water instead.
"Mike, you gotta tell me what's wrong, you're worrying me." Calum spoke gently as he took a sip of the coffee that had been declined only moments prior, Sekiro curled herself into a ball between the two as she felt the vibrations of the two men talking.
"I don't have to tell you anything." The brunet saw the man building the wall between them as he realised he had to be cautious of the way he worded things, one wrong word and he would be cut from Michael's life that night.
"You're right, my apologies." The conversation ended abruptly as footsteps were heard in the hallway, the black haired man was quick to pull out his knife in case it was someone neither of them knew.
The familiar blond earned an eye roll from the green that now glared daggers into the side of his face. Michael gained a grunt in response to the eye roll as Luke wore nothing more than black pyjama pants.
"Look what Satan sent us."
"Could you be any more childish?" Luke grumbled as he prepared himself a glass of water, back resting against one of the cupboards as he watched the two warily.
"I can. Wanna see?" Michael smirked, his once sad and scared demeanour now back to his cocky and charming personality that Calum knew all too well.
A look of disapproval was sent in his direction as Luke watched the pair warily, eyes landing on the snake in the middle of the counter. His gaze faltered to that of a curious child, the need to hold the animal battling with the need to remain professional; an ongoing tug of war inside his head.
"Well I know your sob story, so tell me some of the smaller things that make up the mind of Cal." Michael hummed gently as he sipped at his water, ignoring the blond who had made himself comfortable in a chair in the far corner of the room.
"Well, what do you wanna know?"
The black haired male shrugged slightly as he thought of things to ask the cute brunet, "I dunno, what's your favourite animal?"
"Mm, I'd have to say turtles are my favourite just because they're so freaking cute." The brown eyed man smiled brightly as he sipped at the coffee in his hands, "do you like coffee?"
"Yeah, um what's your favourite colour?" Michael questioned, determined to see if the younger male liked the colour he despised the most.
"Orange! But not like the colour of the fruit. The type of orange that fills the sky as the sunrises over the ocean, it's soft and calming. It's just an all around beautiful colour."
