All was silent in the midst of darkness as tonight was the night where the moon decided to rest, the tar-black sky wrapped around the countryside in an unsettling embrace as there was no way for the man to see two steps in front of him. Boney fingers curled around the gun in his holster as he remained alert, anything could be out here on the open country road from farmers to homeless people trying to find a place where the rain won't attack them.
The snake's tongue flicked gently in the cold air as beady yellow eyes stared out into the black abyss, the only sound created at that point in time was the crunching of gravel under the man's boots. The boots had been trudging through the gravel for five hours before green eyes landed on the building of the train station located on the other side of the city.
Pushing against the metal fence, the black haired man weaved his way through the wiring as he saw the open freight door that had only recently been filled with crates and sacks of food. Cautious steps were taken as the green eyed man climbed into the freight car, Sekiro slithered down the older male's arm only to bury herself in the crate full of apples.
Michael rested his back against the wall only to slide down and situate himself in a comfortable position behind the wall of fresh produce. As the sun slowly began to rise the bright orange rays streamed into the boxcar only for the sun to be abruptly cut off by a harsh slam of the door, the cart settled into darkness as the sound of wheels rolling against the metal tracks.
"Three hours, Sekiro, you good?" the slight hiss in response was all he needed for him to close his eyes. The movement helped the male feel a sense of safety as he knew no one could access the car for the next few hours, the sound of the wind rushing passed the cart as it twirled in the air with the sound of metal connecting to metal.
Green eyes opened slowly to the sound of the train scraping to a stop at the station, the sound of distant chatter filled his ears as the loud robotic voice boomed over the top of the talking. A faint hiss was heard as Michael looked over to see the door being slid open; this wasn't his stop, he still had three more that he had planned to go through.
Slowly rising to a crouching position, he flicked his finger towards himself only for the snake to understand exactly what her master meant and slither her way up his sleeve as to stay as hidden as possible. Two men climbed into the car as they both started grabbing boxes and sacks of food, the black haired man used the darkness to his advantage as he slowly snuck around the men only to jump onto the train platform.
The sudden movement caught the security guard's attention, eyes narrowing into a glare as he began to make his way over to the stowaway. Green eyes darted around the enclosed station before breaking into a sprint towards the security gates, boney hands pushed down on the metal dividers only for the black haired man to vault over the divider before taking the stairs two at a time.
Shoving through the crowd of bystanders, the stowaway ran from the man who blew his whistle for help; the situation was a common one security handled, they just usually weren't this fast. People tripped on stairs as Michael pushed his way through to the doors of the station; Michael wasn't a man for senseless violence however he wouldn't mind making the officer choke on the annoying whistle, turning him into a squeaker toy.
Two officers stood guard of the main doors as they waited for Michael to run straight into them, what they didn't account for was the fact that Michael knew what he was doing. Green eyes took in all the objects in the room as if he were a camera scanning for any disturbance in their surroundings. Michael spotted the window above the ticket booth, forcing himself to build up enough momentum by running faster towards the booth.
Fingers gripped the overhang above the booth as the man pulled himself onto the ledge with ease before diving feet first through the window, glass shattered around him like snow as he slid down the shingles towards the gutter.
