It was a stinking hot summer day in Melbourne Australia. Everyone was wearing either skirts or shorts at Penola Catholic Collage and were sweating buckets as they sat around the courtyard, in the vibrant yellow sun. The courtyard was a big concrete slab with buildings surrounding it and a few plastic rounded tables that were placed on the right hand side of the courtyard. That was were Taylor, a girl whom had moved to Melbourne about a year ago and who was sixteen years of age. Taylor was short, skinny, brown haired but bright blue eyed and had the best personality that you could possibly ever find in a person. She knew how to have a good laugh and she knew how to make everyone around her feel better when they are down with her weirdness. However, Taylor wasn’t like most girls. She was different. Most girls were obsessed with the way they looked and were cautious of the way they acted. Not her. She wasn’t afraid to be herself and make an absolute idiot out of herself in public and she didn’t care how she looked most of the time. Sure, when she goes out she makes herself look somewhat presentable but in most cases, she just wears whatever she picks out and throws her hair up into a pony tail without any make-up. Thats what her friends; Luke, Jai, James, Tyla, Anthony, Aaron, Bridget, Chloe, Beau and Skip liked most about her. Her carefreeness.
Anyway, Taylor and her friends were sitting at one of the rounded tables during their free lunch, talking about the up coming weekend.
“Im so excited for this weekend you guys” I Shrieked which had caused the whole courtyard to send glares my way.
“So am I. What time does it start again?” Chloe asked
“It starts at 6 babe” Luke said whilst slinging his arm around her waist.
If you haven’t already guessed it, Luke and Chloe were dating. They have ever since i’ve been here and before that. They were adorable and they fit each other so well. They were soul mates. You could just tell.
“What are you wearing?” Jai asked me curiously
“Probably mini shorts, a singlet and my High tops” I said looking down at my half eaten yoghurt.
“Aww yeah. That sounds nice” Jai smiled and looked towards the others, grabbing my hand from under the table.
Jai and I were dating. We have been for about a week now but we still haven’t told the others just yet. We were waiting for the right time. The asking out process was romantic as usual. Night under the stars. A picnic at the park. Candles and roses scattered the red picnic rug. The whole lot. And when he asked me out. He got down on one knee, making it look like he was proposing to me and just asked me to be his girlfriend. Since i’ve practically fell in love with him in the first week i arrived to Melbourne, i said yes. Jai is a gentleman and would do absolutely anything for me without hesitation or complaints. Thats what i liked most about him, his kind heart. Jai is half Italian, half Australian. He has thick brown wavy hair that is swooshed to one side of his head. He has the most gorgeous brown eyes you could possibly ever have and along with that, he has a lazy eye. Which i find super adorable. He doesn’t find it adorable but anyway. Jai is taller than me by a couple for centimetres and he has the best body i’ve ever seen. I was so lucky to have him as my boyfriend. So lucky. Considering every teenage girl in the world were obsessed with him as he was apart of this youtube group called the Janoskians. I have gotten hate for being their friend and i can only imagine the amount of hate i will be receiving once they find out that we are actually dating. I know Chloe gets a lot of hate, but she’s different. She’s thick skinned and wont let anything get to her. Im just scared that maybe it will effect me as a person and change who i am entirely, causing me to be someone i’m not.
I think we were going to go public this weekend but i wasn’t too sure. Its up to Jai really. The bell went which indicated that it was now time to go to class and listen to Mr. Green talk about his boring life as he taught English which was my strongest subject but i didn’t quite enjoy the subject as i would like to. Jai was in my class aswell which had made everything more tolerable and better if you must say. I let go of Jai’s hand and stood up gesturing for him to follow as he was the only one out of the group who had class with me and once he did, we set off to class.
