When I stepped foot in the club my first instinct was to walk outside and go back and crawl up in my bed. The sight of the few girls huddled on one side of what I presumed was the dance platform, made my heart skip as my eyes fell on their outfits.

Was I supposed to wear that? Everyday? For the rest of the time I was here?

Wait! In front of men?!

Maybe this was a bad idea!

"Lisa!" The man I'd met twice in my entire life greeted me.

I'd once met him through my mom when she had to take me with her to work since one of our neighbors was adamant on burning our house down because she had these allegations that my mom was sleeping around with her husband.

I was only ten then but as mere a threat that was at my age, my mom couldn't bring herself into leaving me alone at home so she took me along with her.

The second time was after my mom's funeral. He'd personally availed himself and explained why I needed to work and frankly, even with a bunch of reasons as to why I needed to work here, I didn't see it fit.

"Hi!" I greeted with a nervous smile as my eyes lingered on the girls a second longer before I dragged them to him.

"You'll be fine," he assured following my gaze before prompting me to follow him to his office, "It's the hardest part but you'll get used to it in no time," his smile wanted me to believe so. - but between him and I, we were nowhere close to insinuating that I'd get the hang of this thing.

"Sparkle is the best when it comes to pole dancing. I'll see to it that she teaches you. Tonight you'll be a back up dancer for the general crowd. We'll see how it goes from there!" He explained.

Giving him a close-lipped smile I nodded. There was nothing else I could do or say.

"Do you want to meet the rest of the girls?"

Maybe?!

"Yeah!" I answered.

****
"This is ginger, she's the best," Sparkle explained. The girls didn't use their real names and when my boss asked me if I wanted to meet them, I didn't think he'd enlist Sparkle to show me around. "This is Crystal and the one in pink is Blue." The girl Sparkle pointed to lastly waved at me and I gave her a small polite smile.

"Are you going to dance in those?" Ginger pointed to my outfit in somewhat disgust. Willing myself not to roll my eyes at the typical sassy attitude she tried to give me since she was the best I looked around and walked away from her.

There was no way in hell I was going to stick around and watch her try to boss me around or say things trying to spite me!

I found my way back to my boss's office and knocked on the door.

Explaining that the tour Sparkle gave me was satisfactory I asked him what was needed of me.

And I definitely did not expect him to give me a booty short and an open bra with sparkly braces running down my waistline before asking Crystal to teach me how to dance in a six-inch pair of heels.

****
Crystal made my whole dancing routine a mess and by the time I was done with practice my legs could barely walk let alone dance around the crowd that had started to swarm the whole place.

Wincing as I tried to massage my reddened ankles, I stepped back into the heels when a guy came to the dressing rooms and announced that we were needed to take our positions on the dance floor.

"Are you okay?" Sparkle asked as I wobbled in the heels I was wearing.

"Never been better!" I gave her a fake smile knowing full well that her concern was just as fake as my smile.
