"Are you really leaving?" I asked Ella as I scanned her packed bags.

"No. I'm just gonna take a shower with all my bags packed." She replied sarcastically and I held in a giggle.

"You could have at least waited for the gala to end and then we'd have gone together." I told her.

I know I was overreacting about her leaving for thanksgiving two days before me but still...

"You know how mom gets with me travelling back plus you booked that flight for us and I'm not missing a free flight just because you got your ass stuck running a gala thanks to your boyfriend." Ella replied as she pulled her heels on.

"Cole's not my boyfriend," I protested lightly and smiled when she rose her perfect eyebrow at me. "It's still too early to tell."

"Too early my butt!" Ella scoffed,"you two have been inseparable for the last one week and not to mention that even Harris sees it too." Her words brought a pang to my heart as I involuntarily replayed Harris and I's fight just a day ago.

"I just don't know what's wrong with him sometimes," I told her truthfully.

I really like Harris. He was a good friend, a better listener than most people and he really cared but sometimes he would act so gruff and protective that it hurt my feelings to put things past him.

"Maybe he's jealous." Ella chimed in and I rolled my eyes.

"Don't you think he would have said something by now?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"Well, all I have to say is that I'm glad to be away from all the awkward dinners with your admirers even if only for a week." She announced triumphantly and I rolled my eyes.

"Now, for the full purpose of enjoying a first class flight paid by courtesy of you, do you think you could drive me to the airport real early?" She beamed at me falsely and I narrowed my eyes at her.

"You expect me to chauffeur you to the airport?" I asked her incredulously.

"Well, duuuh! Unlike you I don't have a boyfriend to drive me there." She said taking her bag with her to the living room.

Surprised I didn't have to carry her bags as well.

"Hey, you'll come immediately after the gala, won't you?" She asked and I nodded, collecting my keys before we both headed out.

"Good, could you pack me the extra dresses in my closet? I didn't want to travel heavy." My mouth gaped open as she casually walked to the car.

The nerve of this girl!

"You want me to bring you clothes?! What have you packed then?"

"Just a few supplies for  a week. Plus I know you won't pack much."

Opening the driver's side, I shook my head and sighed. "You're just too much at times." My voice was a bit light and she giggled at my failed attempt to chide her.

"Thank you." She replied sarcastically.

"I could totally jump you right now!" My mouth literally hang open at Gabby's declaration.

"I-uh-!" I was so flustered nothing actually came out.

"Gabby," Tony dragged out her name like a condescending adult before he gave me a once over, "Normally I wouldn't agree but today, I'm going straight for her too."

My mouth felt dry and I was about to embarrass myself even more when Cole came to my rescue.

"Back off you two," he chided and took me by the waist, "she's my date and you two are making her too uncomfortable," ninety nine percent of the time I would have stood up for myself but hearing blatant carnal utterances come from his two friends was something that threw me off the balance. "Don't mind them." Cole said as he whisked me away from them.
