the red lights seemed to blink tiredly at you from where they sat on Eri's nightstand.
you smiled softly as you looked at your daughter's face, her brows uncreased and her breathing peaceful. it had taken a while, but it seemed that the little girl was finally comfortable with sleeping alone.
however, you weren't going to lie and say you didn't miss those days when she snuck into your and Shouta's bed--claiming that you two kept the monsters away.
but she was final comfortable in her new home, and that was more than you could've asked for.
she was finally happy.

the once hot cup of tea felt lukewarm as you picked it up, sighing in relief at the odd comfort it gave you.
sitting on the couch, you snuggled up to Shouta and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. his brows furrowed as his concentration broke from the papers he was grading for a second. the action brought a smile to your face.
"how is she?" his baritone voice resonated throughout the house, and you pressed yourself closer to him, seeking the warmth his body provided.
"good. she's still asleep," you hummed, taking a sip of your tea before resting your head on his shoulder and peering at the papers in front of him.
his free hand reached and rested on your thigh, and you were quick to place your hand over his, lacing your fingers together.
