U.A, a prestigious school for those who knew that the field of hero was what they wanted, and the school helped fuel their need for it. You knew you wanted to be a hero more than most, but some made you feel like you didn't want it hard enough. Others like Bakugou Katsuki or even Midoriya Izuku made you feel like your drive wasn't hard enough, and as if you were unworthy of being there.
During your lunch break, instead of going to the cafeteria like your friends and other students, you headed towards the school rooftop to get some fresh air. The stairs to the roof seemed to drag on endlessly, each stair seemingly getting higher, and by the time you had arrived to the rooftop your legs were sore. Usually the stairs weren't a chore for you, but today just seemed to not be your day.
The wind danced with tree limbs, making their leaves land onto the rooftop floor. You stepped to a bench and plopped down, putting your head in your heads. Man, you honestly just wanted to stay up here for the rest of the day; besides, it wasn't like anybody would miss you in class. Deciding on skipping the rest of class, you laid down on the bench and closed your eyes. You raised an arm to shield your eyes from the sun and calmed your mind, waiting for your mind to shut down and fall asleep.
"Y/n! What are you doing up here? Class started twenty minutes ago!" A loud voice had waken you up from your dreamless sleep.
You didn't respond, hopefully the person who had woken you up would realise you didn't care and would leave. Heavy footsteps traveled to your sleeping frame and shook your shoulder, causing you to remove your arm from your eyes and blink haphazardly.
"Iida, what are you doing? Go away," you mumbled before closing your eyes again.
"As class representative, I have to remind you that tardiness isn't U.A approved and could look poorly on resumes." he spoke mannerly.
"As the person who shouldn't even be at U.A, I don't care anymore." you announced, sitting up and staring at Tenya.
Tenya's eyes visibly softened as he sat beside you.
"Why not? U.A is the best school for heroes in training, and you do want to be a hero, correct?" he questioned, turning his head to look at your frowning face.
"I do, but," Were you really going to confide in Tenya about your feelings of inadequacy? It seemed like he was trustworthy, and it was possible you both had mutual feelings for each other, so... why not?
"It's just that... what's the point anymore? Being here just has made me realise that I really don't belong here. Everyone has amazing quirks, they're dedicated, and they sure as hell seem to want it way more than me." you sighed, your eyes gathering tears. You didn't want to cry, not in front of Tenya or even in general, but today just seemed like a good day for a crying session.
The glasses clad boy sat in silence for a moment, calculating a response. "You passed the entrance exam with flying colors if I'm correct."
You thought for a moment before nodding.
"I've seen you do excellent work," he stated. "Just because you don't boast about yourself like others doesn't make you less worthy of being here."
"I guess you're right," you sighed. "I was just being over dramatic is all."
He took your hands between both of his and squeezed. "Let's go back to class, we can't afford to waste any more time."
You nodded and let him lead to back to class, his hands still grasping yours.
