𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘  alma was taught to be polite and quiet, so she spent much of her social life being overly polite to men, and in small group settings, she never spoke out unless the conversation pertained to her. but she's also ambitious, she had dreams of becoming an actress on the big stage, or writing plays for big-name directors to put on. she doesn't quit when things get difficult and instead pushes herself harder.
𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃  alma grew up with both her parents (george and mary) with three other siblings (william, 23 - charlotte, 19 - juliet, 18) in a little house just outside the city. her brother had dreams of joining the military, while she dreamed of the arts, and her sisters found themselves complicit in marrying and starting their own family (though charlotte loved music and juliet was very interested in science). alma would horde any journals she could get her hands on and started writing short stories, lyrics, and eventually, plays of her own. she was determined to have her name known to millions who loved her work and were inspired to chase after their own dreams.
however, after volunteering at a school library she became ill. doctors assumed the worst, pneumonia, and she was told to stay home in bed. her family was able to say their goodbyes before she passed away three weeks later. her family joked for a while that if she couldn't pass on, her spirit would find it's way to some theater and wander its halls in hopes of her plays still being performed.
three years later when charlotte pitched and put on one of alma's plays, multiple guests and performers said they had seen a white mist backstage. charlotte smiled, of course.

𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐒  ‣ alma's first performed play was called "once before" - it was about a young woman fighting against her family and society in the hope of following her dreams.
