It's been three weeks,meaning good twenty one days,five hundred and four hours since Atenna was made queen and she was glad and pleased with herself at her achievement but one question still remains.
How can she lure the cold alpha of a king who will be devastated or more of his beast when he hears of his Queen's death
All knows it was the late queen who could tame his beast and went soft but even so,only to her and so one could imagine him in his cold self and thinking of it leaves goose bumbs all over her in fear as she had seem him kill someone for just whispering his name as " that king of a beast" and she had thought then that he was ruthless even though hot and look how he even humiliated her in her kingdom
he would be the beast everyone will want to run from or better yet due before meeting him and it will be gruesome.
One,she didn't want to witness that humiliation of being the laughing stock once again,when he left her kingdom,the king banned everyone never to say anything of what had happened again but people still did, whispering behind her,her suitors turned her down and no one had wanted her as a wife again,she vowed to only marry the person who had caused this to her,ruin her life
Second,she can't shake the bad feeling away no matter what,the power and respects that comes from being queen is addicting but the king was one who never bend to rules or anyone but only to his queen but he rather bends everything to his liking,she shakes the bad feeling away
Atenna sat in her room grimly in thought as she had no solution yet and even some were straight outrageous besides,his father is willing to help but the king is a threat to them no matter what but she knew her father was elevated with the news and again something was bothering her making her one question still hanging
"Is she going mad"
she asks herself for the thousandth times for the past week as she keeps seeing the late queen in almost every where, even in the bathroom which gives her a heart attack every time and when she runs and call her maidens or guards,there will be no one and they will start whispering around and that makes her wonder is it's all in her head but it happens almost every day,even at night she is there screaming at her to wake up and now one could see her eye bags but she tries hard to conceal it but one can't help but see without trying and it's all because of her sleepless night and ghost episodes,was she a witch or something 🧹
She hurries to her room as she holds a letter with the king's royal symbol on it and she was really curious to know what it holds,she ignores all the bowing and greetings as she hurries inside her room and close the door, locking it so no one enters.
She sit down in a hurry and tear it open but all colour drains from her face when she starts reading
Atenna,or should I say queen Atenna,how naive can you be,the battle is ended or so you thought, how wrong of you as it has only began, you eliminated our queen,poisoned her and snatched the crown but guess what I had personally made sure the Queen's body is stolen to be given only to the king so he sees the proof to your treacherous and wickedness but I again wonder,will he kill you alone or all your other accomplices including your greedy father and those bastards elders but don't worry,only time will tell but I won't personally let you rest,Atenna the queen was again pregnant,so two troubles for you and which beast will our king take form of,watch your back as am now your shadow,have fun with being the queen cause it won't last long,after all you have something that belongs to her and that's need to be taken
YOUR TOMENTOR
Atenna took deep breaths but one could still see her visibly shaking as she walks to the throne room to rule a case that they proclaimed it needs her immediate attention but she looked very pale and sick
She walks as she sits as a man bowed before her as she nods in acknowledgement for them to proceed as she is tired and exhausted
"My queen,this man here had killed my wife but he claims,she is his and the body was found in his room this morning and has the audacity to even say if he can't have her then neither can I and had poisoned her and taken her valuable treasures which consists of jewels, clothes and her house which was given to her by her late husband,my queen I deemed him greedy as it's because of the money and riches which is why he committed that atrocity,please I plead for justice for my love and for a murdered innocent woman"
the man narrates and plead it with pure sadness and agony making people to sympathize with him as people had come to witness the verdict of the new queen,this is one of the difficult task she is yet to face to prove her worth to the people
She looked on to the accused man as she nodded for him to explain himself as after all everyone is to have a chance to explain himself
"Your grace,may you leave long,all that this man had said is lies,I had her first,she loved me but deemed me not worthy as I was poor but after her marriage to this man she came to me but we kept it a secret until she became pregnant and yester night she shared bed with me as we had done numerous time,I woke up early and made breakfast for her but she wouldn't wake up but him being stupid though I killed her,am innocent my queen as I had loved her with my life,I also suspect him as he threw a party for her yesterday and fed her himself before she came and never drank anything or eat even or nibble,I know he killed her because he wasn't man enough to accept her infidelity" the accused said pleading with sympathy and silent agony with his eyes for the queen to believe her but the queen was livid with this case as she could relate it to hers in every way possible which made her cringe
"I sentence the accused to death as he is still guilty for sleeping with someone's wife who wasn't his wife or even mistress and again the body was found in his room" the queen ruled confidently but when one looked closely,they could still see her inside conflicts as she turned her head as the guards took the accused away to deliver his punishment but she shouted angrily to the queen and the people
" If I should die with my love as my punishment for loving her,I will gladly do so but I hope no one suffers for love as I had,to be condemned for loving her when someone sits there and jubilate of my doom,we shall all meet again in the land of the dead but I hope karma and justice prevail,long live the wise king and his queen, long live Navaeh" he said boldly as he was dragged to be executed
But one could see,the queen was tired and others thought it was because of her duties as the queen making them to respect their late queen and if it was her she would have made investigation before she rules,she had never judge in a rush
" Is this a cruel joke and am I entitled to this too"Atenna thought grimly
