Sky was all of a sudden back home, doing his homework. He looked around seeing if anyone had noticed he was gone. There was something odd in his pocket. It was the letter he picked up earlier that day. He read to who it was addressed to, but all he saw was weird symbols. Sky let out a hard sigh and put the letter on his bedside table. He then took a shower and got dressed. He looked at his phone and saw 26 messages and 3 miscalls from Mauve.
"Shoot, I forgot to study Maths with him. He's going to kill me when he finds out where I was."
He puts his phone down, staring one last time at the letter and its weird symbols, before dosing off to sleep.
The next day, Sky patiently waiting for Rose during registration.
"What are you so anxious about?" Mauve asked.
"It's nothing. Do you know where Rose is?" Sky asked.
"Who?" Mauve asked his friend.
"What do you mean who? The new girl we met yesterday whose mind we can't read, ringing any bells?" Sky asked in confusion.
"I knew there was a new girl but I didn't know her name was Rose, and what do you mean we can't read her mind?" Mauve asked, more confused than Sky.
"What's going on, why doesn't he remember what happened yesterday?" Sky thought to himself.
"Do you want to study Maths with me tonight?" Mauve asked, changing the subject.
"I have something to do tonight, maybe tomorrow?" Sky said.
"Ok." Mauve said puzzled. The bell rang meaning that registration was over.
Sky spent the next two periods waiting for Rose to appear with her gorgeous blonde hair and ocean blue eyes where you could get lost in forever. He left Mauve at break and went to the abandoned classroom at the back of the school. There he found a petit girl on her knees, doing her homework and listening to music with both earphones in.
"Rose?" Sky said gently.
"What are you doing here?" Rose said, startled.
"I've been looking all over for you, and Mauve all of a sudden doesn't know who you are and you aren't in our registration anymore. What's going on?" Sky bombarded Rose, who was clearly upset.
"I took away his memory from me of yesterday. And I'm not in your registration because I moved to another one." Rose said, closing her book and wrapping her earphones around her phone.
"Why would you do that?" Sky said, strangely feeling hurt by what he's hearing.
"Because we can't see each other anymore. I won't erase your memories, but please, just stay away from me from now on. It's best for the both of us." Rose quickly said, collecting her things and heading for the door. Sky puts out his arm and stops her from leaving. He looks at her as she does back. Sky no longer saw the sapphire blue eyes he once saw before. He saw the red eyes that were as beautiful as they were vibrant. She quickly looked away and moved Sky's arm away, but he resisted.
"Please?" Rose pleaded gently, still not looking at him. Sky regrettably moved his arm and let her go. It felt like a huge wrecking ball had just swung and broke his heart into a million pieces. He desperately wanted to be with her. But to do so, it seemed he had to give her space. Sky walked out the classroom closing the door behind him. He walked off to his next class with his head hung low and his spirits crushed.
