It's been 2 months since Rose and Esmeralda met. Rose finally told Esmeralda the truth, and so did she. Esmeralda was in fact a Green. She had a special love for animals. They were both excited as there was only one week left until Christmas break, but Rose had a problem. It was the 15th of December. Rose's birthday was the 5th of January, a non school day. She knew that on a Red's birthday, you would manifest your powers on your 16th birthday. But she already inherited her mother's powers, which means that not only will she have her mothers powers, but she will have her own as well. She knew that something else would be doubled too, but she would rather not think about that. She would need all the help she can get to protect the world from finding out who she really is. She knew who she had to ask, but she didn't know if she was ready to talk to him again. But this was the only way.
During lunch, she mind-linked Sky and Mauve to meet her in the abandoned classroom. After about 10 minutes, Mauve came in dragging Sky with him.
"Can you get off me please?" Sky said, very annoyed.
"Sorry, but this was the only way to get you here." Mauve said, holding his hand that's been clenching onto Sky.
"Why did you even call us here?" Sky commented, not even looking at Rose.
"Well, I wouldn't talk to you if it wasn't necessary, you know that." Rose snapped back. She took a deep breath and continued
"My 16th birthday is coming up and that is when my powers manifest."
"So why do you need us?" Sky sarcastically asked.
"I need you to protect the human world from my powers."
"Fine, we'll help." Mauve said before Sky could reply with a snarky comment.
"I can't sorry, my parents are also my real parents so they'll know if I'm gone." Esmeralda said.
"Thank you, but I don't want you there, it could be dangerous."
"Quick question, who are you and why are you here?" Sky death stared the poor girl. Rose stepped in front of Esmeralda and Sky, stopping him from reading her mind. Sky turned away again.
"Can I speak to Sky please? Alone." Rose said sternly.
"Sure. I'll see you later Sky." Mauve said leaving his friend in the room.
"You too please Esme."
"Ok, see you on the field later tonight." Esmeralda said. "Good Luck." Esmeralda closes the door behind her, leaving the room in an awkward silence. For what seems forever, they are standing at opposite ends of the room, staring at each other.
"So..." They say at the same time.
"You first." Says Rose.
"No no, lady's first." Sky said sarcastically.
"Ok, I'm sorry for not talking to you for a long time. It's just..." Rose pauses.
"It's just what, fun to ignore me for months on end. It's just nice to see me in pain everyday." Sky lashes out on Rose, bringing Rose nearly to tears. He feels how sad she is and regrets shouting at her.
"I'm... I'm sorry, I did not mean to stay away from you and shut you out. But it was never part of my plan." Rose says quietly.
"What plan?"
"My plan to get my rightful place as Queen of the kingdom. To keep the Red bloodline alive. To keep everyone else's powers and the kingdom alive."
"And what about me wasn't your plan?" Sky asks, moving forwards towards her slowly.
"I wasn't supposed to meet..." Rose stops, tears streaming down her face faster. She looks up to Sky who is now in front of her. Her eyes are slowly melting from an ocean blue to a ruby red. Sky's hazelnut eyes are already glowing bright blue.
"You weren't supposed to meet your soul-mate."
