A week goes past and no one has heard from Rose. The three of them decided to meet everyday in the abandoned classroom, hoping Rose will come back but still nothing. The humans didn't understand what was going on at first, but Esmeralda and Mauve told them everything, and told them to keep it a secret. They did so and came along everyday with them. Sky was quiet most of the time, short tempered as ever, regretting everyday not being with Rose. No one talked about what happened that day, and if it were ever brought up, Sky would leave and not return the rest of the day, not talking to anyone.
It was the last day of school before the Christmas break. Mauve and Sky would go back to the Colour Kingdom to spend time with their families. Sky was dreading it as he would have to face his murderous father. He didn't know whether to confront him, or to keep his thoughts and his knowledge down. Mauve and Esmeralda were more worried about when Rose will return, if she'd ever return.
Lunchtime, the last hour before everyone goes home, either getting ready to spend Christmas Holiday abroad or stay home with their families. Sky, Mauve and Esmeralda were in their hideout, saying their goodbyes to Esmeralda before they head off home. Sky gets a phone call from his human parents and steps outside.
"You sure he's going to be ok?" Esmeralda asks in a hushed voice.
"I'm not, and that's what worries me. His father is most likely going to make him do duties again, which will only make it worse." Mauve worryingly says.
"You know I wish I could come, but I'd have nowhere to stay. Plus, I don't think my parents will be happy" Esmeralda says with a little smile.
"You could always stay with my family?" Mauve suggests. Just before she could answer, Sky comes back in.
"What was that about?" Esmeralda says, changing the subject from her previous conversation.
"They want to go to Wales for the holiday, not that I can really go with." Sky replies, putting his phone back in he pocket. He feels something in it as he puts his hand in. He takes it out to see a piece of paper neatly folded in four.
"What's that?" Mauve asks, curious to this random sheet of paper.
"It's a letter I think, but I can't read it. It's written in a different language I think." He shows his friends the letter, with puzzled expressions on their faces. Before they can open and read the message, there is a bright red light shining in an oval eclipse, beckoning them to go in.
"Do you think..?" Esmeralda says, but stops, rethinking her words.
"There's only one way to find out I guess." Sky says, looking at the eclipse before stepping in it. With a small flash, Sky is gone. Mauve shrugs and steps in with, once again, flash, disappear. As Esmeralda went for her turn, the eclipse disappears as quickly as it came, leaving Esmeralda confused in a cold, abandoned classroom.
