Those Eyes

Chapter 15

Sky and Mauve arrive at a place familiar to them. The Red Realm. Sky immediately calls out,

"Rose?" His voice echos around the complex, seeming to reach no one.

"Maybe she's not here?" Mauve suggests, quickly getting scowled by Sky.

"Rose?" Sky says a little louder. Still nothing but echos. Suddenly they hear a thump behind them. They quickly turn around to see a girl, leaning against a pillar, clearly very weak.

"Is that you Rose?" Mauve calls out. The girl looks up at Sky directly in his eyes, whilst her's shine a red and his blue. Sky goes over to her just in time before she completely collapses. Her soft skin is hot to the touch, yet she has a blanket around her body. Sky takes the blanket off her, as soon as he does, she starts shivering vigorously, curly up against his body, seeking any type of heat.

"Rose what's going on?" Mauve asks, taking the words right out of Sky's mouth. She tries to speak but she is shaking too much to make out anything she is saying.

"Rose, open up your mind so we can talk like that." Sky says, trying to communicate. Rose may be shaking but it is clear she shook her head no.

"Come on, you know you have to, how else are supposed to know how to help?" Sky pleads, his heart aching from seeing her be so strong to so weak now. But still, she's shakes her head no.

"Please, we have to, we can't just leave you here suffering!" Sky says, almost screaming at her. He looks back at her with sorry eyes, implying that he didn't mean to shout, he's just trying to help. Through all her shivering, they can make out one word.

"Fine" she says, almost in a whisper. As soon as she does, they can finally hear the shy girls mind they so desperately wanted to hear. But as soon as they do, Rose passes out, probably from exhaustion.

"Well, do you want me or you to go in?" Mauve asks.

"I'll go, you go find a library and see if you can find anything." Sky says, setting Rose's limp body on a near by lounge.

"Do you know how to do it?" Mauve asks cautiously.

"Of course I do, now go look!" Sky snaps. Mauve quickly scurries off in a direction, leading to parts of the complex he's never seen before, whilst Sky is getting ready to jump into Rose's mind. He takes one quick look at Rose before trying to find the strength. If he was being honest, he had no idea what he was doing, but he had to try something. He first tries reading her mind, seeing if he could find anything. As he starts listening, he hears shouting. Like Rose's voice. She's in pain. Lots of pain. He stumbles a little before laying a hand on Rose's head. Once more before he goes in, he hears a voice.

"Don't do it" says a small, sweet voice. He knows it's Rose. He could never forget the first time he heard that voice in his head. He wasn't about to give up on her.

"I can't do nothing, I'm sorry" and with that, he dives deep into her mind.
