Those Eyes

Chapter 11

Sky, on the verge of outburst, tries to hold Rose. As if to apologise for something he can't control. Rose turned immediately away, trying to change her eyes back to blue. She calmed herself down before speaking again.

"No, we can't" said Rose as she pulls away.

"Why not?" Sky asked, heartbroken once more by her words.

"Because, I don't want to hear how lucky I am to be the soul-mate of a prince. When they don't even know that I exist. When I shouldn't even exist." Rose pleaded. 

"It won't be like that, and if they do speak badly about you I will make sure they never see the light of day again because they don't deserve to breath the same air as you." Sky said, moving forward to Rose, almost cornering her at the back of the room. Rose collapses onto her knees, letting out a huge wave of red energy. Sky looks around him, noticing everything is frozen in time. He looks back at Rose, who's glowing red.

"W..what's going on?" Sky asks, slowly edging towards her for comfort.

"We can't be soul-mates." Rose said, glowing more vibrant scarlet. As quickly as Sky went to comfort her, he moved back in fear.

"See what I mean, I can't even control my powers around you, how I'm I supposed to be your soul-mate, let alone a Queen of the Eyes" Rose said, her breath quickening and her powers glowing brighter.

"But why, I know you said that it wasn't part of your plan but I know that's not the truth, yet you haven't really explained why?" Sky queried.

"Can't you see, I can't control my powers." Rose says standing up.

"What if I get mad at you one day and I lash out, I haven't even gotten my full powers and look at what I can do. I'm scared I'll kill you. It different for us Reds, you wouldn't understand." Rose turns away, looking like she's going to explode.

"Help" Sky mind links. Mauve and Esmeralda come rushing in, with 2 other humans who weren't frozen. Mauve teleports everyone in the abandoned classroom to the Red Realm. As soon as they get their, Sky and Mauve create a large force field around half the Red Realm, protecting everyone there. Esmeralda creates a bubble around herself and the two new strangers for extra protection. As soon as it's safe, Rose lets out a huge, constant burst of scarlet energy. She lifted off the ground, letting out even more energy. This only happened for 30 seconds, but for Rose, it felt like 30 hours. Sky and Mauve struggled to keep the force field up against the immense power that was coming from Rose, but the nightmare was soon over. Sky lets down his force field and rushes over to catch Rose, who passed out from from pure exhaustion. Mauve falls to the ground briefly before Esmeralda helped him back up.

"Is she ok?" Calls out Esmeralda after checking Mauve was too.

"She's fine, for now." Sky said laying her down on a chair near by.

"What. Just. Happened?"
