Exiting out the other side of the Mask Grotto, it was like a whole other world. A dreary, bleak world. Thick fog surrounded the area, making it hard to see the path and trees that lies ahead. The only sound was an owl's hoot, followed by pouring rain. Which was strange considering it wasn't even raining. It must've been raining elsewhere.

The Azure Wolves cautiously entered the dark territory, being on their guard with pounding hearts. It felt like anything could pop out. Like a dismantled hand or a giant spider.

...They spoke too soon.

Appearing in their pathway, a giant spider with a skull popped out at them. Zelda let out a scream, bending down while shaking in fear. Not knowing what was going on, she heard the sounds of blades and the feeling of the wind. Slowly opening her eyes, Zelda saw that her four companions had completely disintegrated the spider. All that remained was its ashes and legs.

Standing back up, Zelda widened her eyes in fear. "What the hell was that?!"

Neji cocked an eyebrow. "A... Spider?"

"I know it's a spider! But why was so huge?!"

"It's called a skulltula." Link explained. "They often surprise attack trespassers. They're not scared of you as you are of them."

Zelda shuttered violently. "Yeah, no. I hate spiders with a passion. Especially if they're the size of an 18 wheeler!"

"We dealt with worse back at home." Charles said bravely. "If you can't handle that, then how will you be able to fight in a real battle?"

Charlene winked with a smile. "Says the guy who's terrified of cockroaches."

"Shut up! Those things are disgusting! Ever had one floating in your tea before?! Didn't think so!"

"I already hate this place." Zelda commented. "Is there truly no other way to get to the Red and Black kingdom?"

Link shook his head. "Unfortunately not. This is the one and only way to get there. I hate this place as much as you do, but we have to get through it. Together."

Being reassured that she wasn't going through this awful place alone, Zelda lowered her eyes with a nod. "...Fine. Let's just get this over with." She let out a sigh. "There better not be anymore fuc-"

"Hey, hey!" Neji exclaimed. "Don't say that word, Alice! There are children here!"

"Um... I'm pretty sure you're the only child here."

"Exactly!"

Zelda let out a hopeless sigh. "I'm sorry. I'll watch my language for the children's sake." Looking back, she saw the twins still bickering at one another. Since when did she adopt three children? And if she was the mother, who was the father?
