The Balance and The Force {Star Wars Ep. X}

s. XVIII

Kai had travelled a while. His base was off somewhere far away from the resistance base. Something in him knew exactly what planet to go to. It was like the force was connecting the two of them.

Kai had left and everybody on the base was worried for him. Stormtroopers were yelling for him to come back and asking where he was going but he didn't listen. Kai left quickly and he was still going as fast as he could.

Kai breathed out softly and watched as the planet came closer to him. He started flying closer till he prepared to break the atmosphere. Once he did he travelled around till he found an open landing pad around where the base was. He could see people running around as he prepared for his landing.

Once he landed he quickly opened up the hatch to get out. He jumped out and saw people gathered with guns. Kai quickly held up his hands nervously.

He watched as his parents ran in. Rey was carrying a baby in her arms. It had to have been hours since he had left.

Kai breathed out heavily and looked between his parents. He felt his heart ache and he put his arms down. He suddenly fell to the ground on his knees. His body slumped and Rey handed Poe the baby before she ran over.

Rey slid onto the ground as tears flowed down her cheeks. She held onto her son tight. It was as if she would never get to hold him again.

Kai hugged back and pressed his large hands on her back.

This felt so familiar to Rey. Kai really was a lot like Ben.

"Kai... Kai..." Rey muttered as she held onto him. "I love you. I love you so much."

Kai could hear his father walking over. Ben got down on his knees too beside Rey.

Kai let go of his mother for a second. He watched her as she wiped her tears and leaned forwards to kiss his forehead.

Kai then turned to his father. In this moment he felt like a dissapointment. He didn't even know if he was going to stay here or what would happen next.

All he knew was that he felt so peaceful even though his sister was still ill. He felt like this was right but he couldn't understand if it was right for him to stay here just yet.

Then, Ben suddenly put a hand up against Kai's cheek. He gently wiped away his tears.

"I know... Kai. I know." Ben told him.

In that moment, Kai knew that his father truly did understand. Kai let out a large sigh before looking back around at the people on the base.

"Please... Don't hurt me. I just want to see my sister. She needs me." Kai slowly started to stand up, his parents did also.

Then, suddenly a person came running through the crowd.

Ryder was sweaty and nervous. Though, in this moment he was obviously angry.

"She doesn't need you... You're a monster!" Ryder suddenly yelled at him.

Before Kai could even speak, Ben did.

"Ryder, shut your damn mouth before you cause anymore trouble." Ben growled at him.

"Of course you're defending your son! Of course you are! Cause you made the same damn mistake and you think that warrants forgiveness?!" Ryder yelled and shook his head. "The woman I love is unconscious and she can't breathe well and you want me to welcome a murderer onto our base?"

Ben looked over at Kai for a minute. Kai was still crying, and he was obviously upset that Ryder was saying these things.

Suddenly, Ben started walking towards Ryder.
