Angela just came from Edgeworth's office.

Admittedly, she's quite startled.

Yet again, she comprehended how the guy was, it was already something she anticipated.

While waiting for the elevator to arrive, she started reading the files.

A couple of seconds went by, and...

Ding!

Angela walked in the elevator, never taking a second, to look at where she was going.

Once she was already captivated on the topic she just couldn't stop reading.

She may have stopped for seconds, solely to press the button to the second floor. Afterward, her eyes averted back to the case.

"Victim: Mia Fey, Suspect: Maya Fey... interesting. They're sisters..." Angela softly mumbled to herself.

Ding!

Angela exited the elevator and went to the direction of the library.

When she entered, she proceeded directly to her desk.

Her noisy friend was not yet there, deeming that it was just 6:20 AM and she usually arrives at 7:00 AM.

For the forty minutes she was alone, she finished reading everything the whole folder contained.

She reckoned that the whole case was confusing, but she was just the secretary and it's not her duty to interfere.

And so, she just decided to open her monitor and access the library files, so she could start recording books.

—————————

After a few hours, Angela finished recording nearly all the books on the first floor of the library.

She was intending to finish everything, but her phone rang.

She reached for her phone, and when she had it, she observed that the caller number was unfamiliar.

Either way, she still picked up the call.

"Ms. Peregrine, be in my office in two minutes." The stern voice of her boss alarmed her.

"Yes, Mr. Edgeworth!" Angela replied briskly through her phone.

Almost immediately, the call ended.

Angela placed her phone back in her pocket, she took the folder that was given to her and she ran as fast as she could to the stairwell.

In her mind, there was no way she'd get to her boss in two minutes with an elevator.

And so even in heels, she ran up six floors until she reached the floor of Edgeworth's office.

—————————

Catching her breath, she entered the office and earned a serious yet confused stare from her boss.

She straightened her top and ran her hand to the top of her hair. She attempted to make herself at least look a little presentable after running up six levels.

Edgeworth stared at her for a few seconds before he spoke, "Have you finished the files I handed you a while ago?" He asked, looking back at the laptop that sat on his desk.

"A-actually, I alread-" Angela took a breath. "I already finished them." She replied to her boss, still trying to catch a breath

Once again, they were visited by uncomfortable silence.

"Sit down, Ms. Peregrine." He spoke with no emotion, gesturing to the couch facing his desk.

He didn't say anything related to Angela finishing the files.

Without second thoughts, Angela walked over to the couch, and sat down.

The couch was very fluffy and comfortable. It definitely benefited Angela, that Edgeworth told her to sit down.

With the feeling of comfort, she also felt lightheaded and at the same time, nervous about her boss.

Just to make things more awkward than they already were, Angela's phone rang in the midst of really uncomfortable silence.

She immediately got a stare from Edgeworth, and it sent shivers all over her spine.

She looked at him with an embarassed look on her face.

"Ms. Peregrine, are you going to answer your phone or are you just going to stare at me?" Edgeworth said to his secretary, who at the moment, didn't know how to handle the awkward situation.

Shakingly, she got her phone from her pocket.

Mina was calling her.

Angela declined the call, and instead texted Mina that she would call or meet her later.

Afterward, she kept her phone and wished it would never ring in situations so silent, like the one she's in.

"Sorry, Mr. Edgeworth. It won't happen again." Angela said in a really embarrassed tone.

"Make sure of that." He replied.

"Anyway, since you're done reading the case report I gave you. You're going to join me in investigating the case tomorrow." He told his secretary.

Angela's eyes brightened. She was so intrigued by the case, she wanted more information about it.

She was also really stunned that Edgeworth even trusted her to come with him.

But of course, it isn't Edgeworth if he won't say anything rude or insensitive.

"Don't get too excited, you'll be carrying my bag." He then said after a few seconds of telling Angela that she'd be joining him.

Even though he said that, Angela was just happy to be a part of the investigation.

Like previously, she anticipated that he would say something rude.

And she knew the best thing to do was just to let it slide.
