YOU WANT TO BE WHAT?

Chapter 5

I turned around & saw that it was him, it was Lou. Did he follow me the library? I immediately grab my book I was reaching for from his hand. I don't give him a second look, I walk to the check out desk & purchase my books. Before doing so, Lou gives the lady his credit card & buys my books for me.
Y/N: "Lou, no!" I say & try to grab his card from the ladies hand. She swipes his card & it goes through. My books were $500.
Lou: "Sorry. My girlfriend doesn't like me buying her things but I owe her this." He says to the lady as she hands me my bag of books.
Y/N: "I am not your girlfriend" I say grabbing my books & walking out.
I hear him laugh a little & thank the lady.
Lou: "Wait up Y/N" I hear him say chasing after me.

I run into the nearest coffee shop hoping he wouldn't see me. I get inside & take a big breath.

Liz: "Are you okay Y/N?"

I freeze. Oh my god.

Y/N: "Yeah I'm fine, just wanted to get here quickly" I say a little out of breath.

Liz looked at me a little confused but seems to shrug it off.

I walk toward the counter & order a tea. I sit down at an empty table & Liz walks over, sitting down in front of me with her friends.

Liz: "You could've sat with us" she says & smiles.
Y/N: "Sorry, I just have books I wanted to look at & I didn't want to disturb you guys." I say & pull my books out of the bag.
Liz: "You're fine. Don't feel like you bother me" She says & smiles at me once more.
Y/N: "By the way did you drink last night? You were still asleep earlier?" I say curious as to why she was.
Liz: "Oh yeah, about that. I uh, well last night I got into an argument with my boyfriend & we decided to take a break." She says looking down at her hands & taking a sip from her drink.

I get up to grab my tea from the counter & walk back to the table.

They broke up & now it makes sense why he followed me to the library & called me his girlfriend. It would be wrong to make a move back right? This is probably a game? What if Liz is testing me?

Y/N: "I'm sorry about that Liz. I really hope things work out in the end." I say & feel a little guilty because what if they broke up because of me.

I'm overthinking.

Liz: "I'll be okay, I just hope our break isn't long. We have been together for 2 years." She says & starts to get a little sad, I could hear her change of tone.

As we continue to talk, of course, Lou walks into the coffee shop.

One of Liz's friends: "Oh my god, Lizzie he's here." The first girl says & nudges Liz's side.

Liz: "I'm sure he's not here for me. It's been one day" she says & turns back to our table.

Lou walks over & hugs her from the back.

Lou: "I'm sorry about last night" he says & kisses her cheek.

So, what was earlier about? Why did he call me his girlfriend? What is this?

I'm starting to think this is just his game.

Why would he play Liz like this?
