"Are you ready yet?" I hear the inpatient voice of Alexander as he bangs the door of my bedroom for the thousandth time while Adelaide giggles along.

"Coming!"

I tightened my messy ponytail for the last time and ran out after once again eyeing my outfit, a white off the shoulder top over black straight pants with some white flats. As I opened the door, I almost slammed into Alex and Adelaide.

"Were you planning to arrive in this decade?" He narrowed his eyes at me.

"I'm sorry." I took Ade's hand, passing a sheepish smile. "I'm here now, shall we go?"

We're going to this new school he enrolled Adelaide in without my permission. We had a fight over the dining table today, right after Adelaide left to get ready. Turns out, he says that the one she had been studying in wasn't 'good enough' and did not even have proper security. I mean, I do agree with him but I had to fight, because well...I had to.

"Go say Goodbye to Grandma, she's in her room with Hannah." Alex pats Adelaide towards Chris and Jessica's room (yep, that's what I'm supposed to call them) and she runs immediately.

"Why did you even plan to take me if you were just interested in enrolling her yourself?"

"Because I care." He snaps back. "And I would, at no costs keep her away from you without any reasons. Unlike you, I know we both have equal rights over her."

I'm at a loss of words until Adelaide comes running back, chewing something her gramdmother has given her.

"Whatcha eating?" Alexander picks her up.

"Candy!" She sticks her tongue out at him.

"So, should we go to the new school?"

"Yes!"

Within seconds, we're sitting in an SUV he's driving. Thankfully, Adelaide agreed on sitting ahead while I stuck to the backseat. Alex turns on the radio and pumps up the volume.

You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
You know you want me
So don't keep saying our hands are tied

Alex, understanding the awkward situation between us with respect to the song, bends down to change the station but Adelaide stops him instantly. He looks at me through the mirror, his handsome face contorted in a rather confused expression. I tell him about how she saw the movie two weeks ago and the songs are stuck.

You claim it's not in the cards
And fate is pulling you miles away
And out of reach from me
But you're here in my heart
So who can stop me if I decide that you're my destiny?

I looked up and saw myself in his captivatingly beautiful eyes as he looked at me through the mirror. I could myself blushing under his gaze. The lyrics did not help as well.

What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing could keep us apart
You'd be the one I was meant to find
It's up to you, and it's up to me
No one could say what we get to be
So why don't we rewrite the stars?
And maybe the world could be ours tonight

"Mommy! You sing that part really well. Come on!" Ade started cheering. I tried to ignore her, but the next thing I know, she turned around and looked at me with her father's eyes, I gave in and started to sing along.

You think it's easy
You think I don't wanna run to you, yeah
But there are mountains (But there are mountains)
And there are doors that we can't walk through
I know you're wondering why
Because we're able to be just you and me within these walls
But when we go outside
You're gonna wake up and see that it was hopeless after all
