CatalinaI finally built up up the courage to talk to my mother about everything. Since the day Alexander met Adelaide, I did not get the chance to talk to anybody-neither my friends nor parents- maybe because they occupied all my time and thoughts. But today morning, I woke up with the urge to talk to my Mom, so I did it.
Throughout my pregnancy, my parents were the only ones who were physically present to help me. I had expected them to yell at me, to abandon me but fortunately, they took it well. One of the advantages of being an only child.
So, the talk with Mom went pretty well too. Yes, of course she was mad at me for not telling her about anything. But again, her temper cooled down quickly and she was delighted that now I at least had somebody around me. I just hope that my step father too takes it that well.
I told her about Hannah and their engagement but she wasn't affected by it. It's probably because she doesn't know what is going on between us. She is not aware of the feeling of attraction binding Alex with me, the forbidden attraction.
And she doesn't know how dangerous Hannah could be.
Alexander
"Oh hey..." I bumped into Hannah on my way downstairs. She was dressed in a blouse and pencil skirt, something she'd wear if she went outside. "Are you going somewhere?"
"Yeah...to the hall, to check the arrangements." Her expression told me that she expected me to do that instead. "Are you off to work?"
"Yeah...come I'll drop you."
Reluctantly, I passed my hand to her which she happily accepted. I know, this makes me seem like a moron, a girl is literally ready to give everything to me but I just don't seem to care. But this feeling, is difficult to explain. I don't hate her, but I don't love her. I've never just seem her in that way before. I would definitely love to have her as a friend-she seems like great company- but she wants exactly the opposite.
"How's the decoration coming up?" I asked her once we were in us car, trying to make small talk.
"I don't know. That's what I'm going there for." She replied meekly, looking outside the window.
"Hey..." I placed my hand on her knee, instantly drawing her attention. "I'm sorry if I'm not that involved."
"It's alright." She shrugged. "I'll try to take care of everything."
"You know what?" I came to the worry conclusion. "I'll stay. We'll take care of the decoration, pick Adelaide from school, I'll drop you two home and then go to work."
"Alex...it's fine. You don't have to do anything for me." Her voice was low and stern, although her eyes said otherwise, shining with delight.
"Let me do it. It will-it will also give us some time to-together."
Why am I stammering?
"Oh-kay." She slumped further in the seat, blushing.
In a few minutes, we reached the hall. I opened the door for her, took her hand firmly and led her inside. See, I can do it if I try. It's not that difficult unless and until we aren't looking into each other eyes. But my eyes meet mine, I see that love and hope and blame myself for not looking at her the same way.
"It's coming along well." I muttered thoughtfully, looking at the Blue and Golden themed decoration, her hand still holding mine.
"Hello Sir, Ma'am." The event manager, a guy in his thirties nodded at us. "Congratulations."
"Thank you so much." Hannah smiled, forwarding her hand for a shake. "Everything coming around well?"
"Yes Ma'am. The decorations are almost done-as you can see. There was a confusion. We aren't aware of whether you would prefer Champagne or Wine?"
"Wine. Red Wine." Before I could think of deciding, she had cut me off.
"Alright, thanks." With that the manager left, leaving us alone.
"You've decided everything well, haven't you?"
"I'm just trying to show you that I matter, that if you would let me, I could be a great Wilson."
"You've got your dress ready, right?" I changed the conversation, before it would turn awkward from my side.
"Yep. You?"
"Mike will see to it. Navy Blue, right?"
"Navy Blue." She nodded and started walking to the seats, dragging me along.
"You've really done well in a day. Hiring the manager, deciding everything so quick." I genuinely appreciated, knowing well how once she's set up her mind, she completes her job perfectly.
"Gotta do what you don't."

"Where's Mommy?" Adelaide grumbled as she jumped into the backseat, back from school.
"She's home, baby."
"Why didn't you bring her along?"
"I'll bring her tomorrow."
"Tomorrow is a holiday."
I frowned thinking about a holiday, there's no holiday coming, why's the school off? Just then, Hannah mumbled 'weekend' next to me.
"Adelaide, do you know that we have a party planned?"
"For!?" She shrieked in enthusiasm. Now, what am I supposed to tell her it's about?
"Just some business stuff..."
"For saving the world?"
"Sort of...yes." Hannah heaved a sigh next to me.
"I got a dress ordered for you." I smiled at her through the mirror.
"Really?"
"Yes, Ade. You'll love it."
"And for Mommy too?"
Busted.
"Yes, for Mommy too. Now come on, we're home."
"Oh-I have to tell Mommy about Alissa...Bye!" She left the car and went inside with quick steps.
"So...?" Hannah's voice was stern, expecting for a reply. What am I even supposed to tell her? I just could not help the urge, I wanted to see them happy in their pretty dresses, I had to do it.
"Look, I wanted to give the dress to Ade...but it would be rude if I didn't get anything for Catalina. So, I just got the dresses for both of them."
"Right...I don't really care. Just let it be." She shrugged, unbuckling the seatbelt in a hurry. "Just new sure you get your clothes done."
"I will."
A navy blue three piece for her, with a black tie, for her.
