"Hurry up, kids! The cars are here." Mom yelled from the hallway and I twirled around in my outfit for one last time.
In the living room, Adelaide being her usual self was throwing a tantrum because she and her Mommy were going to the place with Grandma and Grandpa instead of Daddy while Catalina gave her all possible reasons. When she didn't budge for a minute, Catalina picked her up in her arms and carried her outside. It seems like she's already in a bad mood, that's a pro.
"Alex! Are you ready? Everyone's left already?" I knocked on his door. After some shuffling, the door opened to reveal him standing in a blue three piece suit, matching my dress. My hands couldn't help but make their way towards his chest. Looking him in the eye, I whispered. "You look handsome."
"You look beautiful too."
His mouth turned into an easy, uncomplicated smile. I stretched upwards and softly planted my lips on his, shocking him. Placing a hand on the small of my back, he gently kissed me back. I knew he wasn't giving himself away but I didn't mind. At least he was trying, even if it was because he didn't want trouble today, he was trying.
The ride to the hall passed by in a blur. I was busy recreating the kiss in my forehead while he looked out of the window, immersed in his own thoughts. As we reached the place and walked out of the car, we were bombarded by the paparazzi looking for their share of information. After giving them their pictures, we went inside.
I blinked as my eyes adjusted to the lighting inside. When my eyesight had adjusted, I looked around the hall trying to find something to criticise. Fortunately, they had set everything well. My thoughts were broken by the cheering of people as we descended the stairs. Wrapping my hand around his arm, I put up my best smile.
"Oh, there they are! My lovely kids..." His parents walked to us, hugging us simultaneously. His mother dropped a kiss on my cheek as well.
"You look beautiful, Hannah." She whispered to me and then averted her gaze to Alex. "And look at my boy...all grown up."
"Mom...really?" He wasn't looking at any of us. His attention was of course looking for one person, in particular. "Where's Adelaide?" He turned to his father.
"Catalina took her to the restroom when you entered. She didn't want her asking questions."
His father's gaze was now directed behind us, his eyes shining. I wondered what was up with this family not making eye contact today. Alexander noticed too, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"What is it now?" He asked. "Mom?"
"We have a surprise for you, dear." She whispered.
Hearing a cough from behind us, a turned around.

"Julian, Bella!" I almost yelled out in surprise as I hugged my best friend tightly and he repeated the action. "Oh, My God." Letting go of him, I wrapped my arms around Isabella for a softer hug.
"Surprised, aren't we?" Julian chuckled close to us. "Let go now, she's mine."
"Whatever. She liked me first." Grinning, I pulled away from her as she tapped my shoulder.
"How did this happen? Where's Ian?"
I enquired about their son Ian, the kid I love with the bottom of my heart. Before meeting Adelaide, Ian was the first child I had become close to. If I hadn't been with him, I have no idea how I would ever handle being with Adelaide.
