On Monday morning, I decided to wake up a little earlier than normal. Instead of 6:30, I woke up at 6:00. I checked my phone to three new texts from Luke. Luke? how did he get my number. Oh well. Not going to question it too much.
Luke: hey it's luke. Are you awake yet?
Luke: I was wondering if you would like to ride with me to school today. I can pick you up whenever.
Luke: just let me know
Me: you can pick me up at 7 if you want
And I sent him my address. Well, that's weird. I actually said yes to him. I just need to stop getting so excited. That made me start thinking of Mark, who picked me up every morning and dropped me off after school. Or we would go to his house or get something to eat. Shaking my head, I headed toward the shower. After I threw on some clothes, I went into the kitchen to wait.
"Hey honey." Mom said cheerfully.
"Hey. Luke is going to pick me up for school."
"Luke-- oh that boy your dad gave your number to." She said.
Oh, so that's how he got my Number. That's weird. Normally dad is the one scaring the guys off with our nice little gun room and--- my thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door.
When we pulled into the school parking lot, he asked if there was a certain spot he needed to park.
"You can park wherever." I said noticing that everyone was looking our way. Even our town, where everyone has really nice trucks. Luke's truck was wayyyyyy beyond that. I couldn't help but feel a thrill in the way other girls were glancing with me. And then I thought that was stupid of me. I don't need to get over my head with this. I need to focus on school.
"What's wrong?" Luke said, noticing the scowl planted firm o my face.
"Oh nothing. I'm just thinking about this test I have coming up." i lied.
After he parked, he ran to my side o the truck, opened the door, and helped me out.
This is going to be harder than I thought. I've known him for like one or two days and I'm already smiling like an idiot.
