"Okay, so when I was little, I always knew that something was wrong with my mom. I later found out that she was majorly depressed. She spent weeks at a time locked up in her room, rocking back and forth, hardly ever eating. We weren't aloud to bother her. One day, I was about ten, I walked into her room trying to show her a project I just finished making for school. She was sitting there in the center of the room, rocking back and forth muttering. She looked up and saw me and completely freaked. After that, even when she was doing good, I hardly ever looked at her. I didn't even speak to her. I think that made her worse. When she found out she was pregnant, she was so happy, and she tried to tell me, but I wouldn't listen. This was last summer. She had another one of her 'episodes' but instead of going to her room, she went for a drive. Around midnight the cops came to our house informing us that they found her in her car, dead, in the lake. Long story short, my dad decided we both need some fresh air and a new start."
Before I had a chance to process it all he said he wanted to take me out to eat. Then he grabbed my hand and dragged me outside, into his truck.
I sensed that he didn't want to talk about his mom anymore, so I decided to keep my mouth shut. I'm glad I did, for once, cause we had a good time. Even though if someone asks, I wouldn't admit it.
