Author's pov
After preparing herself, she hesitated over her outfit choice. In the end, she opted for a purple sweater, a black leather skirt that reached mid-thigh, and knee-high combat boots. As she descended the stairs, Yoongi's voice greeted her just as her foot touched the final step.
"Where are you going?" His displeased tone quickened her heartbeat.
"I... I'm going..." She was cut off by the bell before she could finish her sentence. He shot her a glare and strode to the door. She was relieved that Jungkook had arrived at just the right time. But worry started to show in her eyes since her brother was going to interrogate them both, now.
It was hardly a pleasant scene; Jungkook was far from being Yoongi's favourite person. Yoongi had always been overly protective of his younger sister. She was 21, for heaven's sake, yet he still treated her like a child.
Jungkook rang the doorbell nervously, unsure whether it would be Y/n's intimidating brother or his girlfriend, whom he hoped to see first. As the door swung open, his smile disappeared at the sight of her brother. "Damn!" he muttered.
"Oh, hi hyung." He greeted with a hint of anxiety, only to be met with Yoongi's stern glare as he ushered him inside.
"How did I manage to survive three years of my relationship with her under his watch?" He wondered silently.
"Why are you here so late?" Yoongi asked, his voice as icy as Alaska's infamous cold weather.
He glanced at Y/n, who appeared ethereal in her attire. Everything else faded away when he gazed at her.
"Did you not hear what I said?" Yoongi raised his voice, causing both of them to flinch a bit.
"I'm..." He faltered, his words trailing off unintentionally.
"He's taking me out on a date, oppa." Y/n interjected, and Yoongi gave her a deadly glare making her to look down. He then looked back at Jungkook waiting for his response.
"I'm taking Y/n on a date, is that okay, hyung?" He asked, glancing over at Yoongi.
"Okay, but she needs to be home before midnight, or you'll regret it tomorrow, JEON," He replied, receiving a nod in agreement. Without hesitation, he took Y/n's hand and they headed to the car.
"Babe, are you sure he's your brother?" He inquired, recalling the earlier confrontation. Y/n gave him a puzzled look.
"Considering we both have vampire skin, my mother's eyes, and he's the spitting image of my father, yes, he is." She replied, gazing forward.
"I understand you share certain traits... like being short." He remarked dryly as she gave his arm a gentle pinch, eliciting an 'ouch!' from him.
"Are your parents certain they didn't get their kids mixed up or something?" He persisted with his teasing.
"Just shut up and drive, okay or change the topic."
"Ok, I'm joking ok baby, just kidding."
"I apologize for his behaviour and the way he consistently treats you. I assure you; he doesn't harbour any hatred towards you." She said to him reassuringly.
"I understand, and I don't hold it against him for being an overprotective brother. It's his right, and I believe he's shown in his own subtle ways that he doesn't despise me. After all, that's just Yoongi being Yoongi." He replied, offering comfort yet remaining sincere.
She returned his smile and gave his nearest hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it as he needed to switch lanes.
"I know you said I should shut up and just drive a while ago, but I love your outfit. I never got the chance to say it earlier in front of your brother." He finally said after a few minutes of silence.
