19: Aidan's orders

I stayed up all night dahil sa kaba at takot. Pakiramdam ko kasi tito would kill me in my sleep. Akala ko nga hindi na matatapos ang dinner namin kagabi.

Alam ko naman mula pumasok ako sa business na tito Chaos used to play dirty para mapapayag ang mga business partners or clients nila minsan. He would have sex with their business partners' daughters or with their business partners na babae. We all know kung gaano ka gago si tito Chaos magtrabaho. Hindi ko nga lang alam kay tatay, he only co-runs it lang naman.

Sa buong buhay ko na nagtrabaho sa Baez Empire, I never played dirty just to close a deal with clients or business partners. That is just unethical!

I planned and readied the documents nalang since hindi ako makatulog. I was also practicing my speeches na sasabihin ko pag nagkita kami ni Dustin. My mind kept making up scenarios kung anong mangyayari sa pagkikita namin.

I imagined him na galit sa akin. Iinsultuhin din ako gaya ng pag insulto ng daddy niya sa akin. But I also imagined him being professional, acting like nothing happened between us gaya noong kwento ni Chanty sa akin sa unang pagkikita nila ni Adrian na Adrian acted like wala silang pinagsamahan. But I also imagined Dustin still being in love with me, that his eyes would sparkle the moment he sees me just like years ago noong kami pa.

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako.

The sun is already shining kaya lumabas ako sa balconahe. Napaakap ako sa sarili ko dahil sa lamig. I feel like all my worries vanished as I saw my view⁠—small Traditional Swiss-alps houses na pinapalibutan ng mataas na bundok. It's almost spring so the trees are starting to turn green. Napakaganda. I could stay here forever kahit gusto ko din naman tumira sa tabi ng dagat.

I just want to live somewhere peaceful for my peace of mind and for the peace of my heart.

My alarm started ringing para sa paggising ko kaya pumasok na ulit ako at pinatay ang alarm ko. I took a hot shower para mawala ang kaba na nararamdaman ko.

"You are Eunice Mikaela Baez. You are a Baez! You are the Chief Operating Officer of the Baez Empire. You will not be intimidated! Sila ang maiintimidate sayo!" I told myself in the mirror.

Buti na lamang at walang nakakakita sa akin dahil mukha akong baliw pero kailangan ko lang talaga iremind ang sarili ko.

This is actually my first time to feel like this, to feel this fear in my body.

I heave a sigh bago pumasok sa meeting room na binigay ng mga Alcantara sa team ko para doon kami magkita ng mga ka team ko. Isang room na may isang corner na glass wall para kita pa din ang magandang view ng Zermatt.

"Good morning," I greeted them as I sat on the swivel chair in the middle.

Linda immediately gave me my coffee at inilagay sa mesa ang mga documents na kailangan ko.

"Any reports?" I asked Ezekiel.

He started discussing his plans to us which sounds great for me pero may kailangan lang ipolish. After Ezekiel spoke, nag report naman agad si Vince, ang engineer na co-collaborate with the Alcantara's, sa pagpapatayo ng hotel. He discussed that most of the decisions will be made by the Alcantara's since sila ang may malaking desisyon. Kahit labag man sa loob ko, tumango na lang ako kasi totoo naman.
